    German purity laws

My favourite beer Becks is brewed according to the German purity laws. There is no sugar added. How is it that the kits all have sugar in them? Can you get a kit that doesn't add any sugar to the beer?

    Cost per pint

So you don't have to buy a priming kit. A KG of granulated sugar is fine to use?

    Sodastream

I saw it somewhere that SodaStream in Germany was advertising them to be used to carbonate wine. So if it's good enough for wine. Then why not beer.

    Plastic kegs and CO2

I'm thinking that I'm going to need 4 plastic kegs and a fermenter bucket, also a fridge. How do you get carbon dioxide into the keg beer? Do you prime the whole keg with sugar or do you attach a source of carbon dioxide? If it takes 3 weeks from start to finished brew. At what point do you...

    Cost per pint

I usually start at about 2pm and I'm all done come 9pm.

    Cost per pint

As you say the production will have to be big. That's why I'm thinking of just going straight to using kegs. I don't fancy sanitising loads of bottles with each batch.

    Hi everyone

This is the third move that this thread has had now. LOL

    Cost per pint

It's £10 a case when on offer at Tescos. Like I said I can take it or leave it. If I am enjoying a good beer. Why not go for it. Happy days.

    Cost per pint

It works out at a case of 20 X 275ml bottles a day. Saying that. I've not had any Becks in 5 months. So not an alcoholic. I can take or leave beer.

    Cost per pint

My outlay for Becks is about £300 a month. I would like to reduce that by a significant amount.

    Cost per pint

Using a kit. It comes out at about 40-50 pence a pint. How much does your brew cost per pint? Is it substaionally cheaper going from a recipe instead of a kit?

    Sodastream

Can you use a SodaStream to carbonate the lager? Instead of using sugar in each bottle.

    Hi everyone

So would a Coopers lager kit need to be fermented at 10 degrees C?
