    Brew fridge fan

If it's an under counter size fridge I wouldn't bother fitting a fan it's not really necessary. If it's a tall fridge then yes fit one and a computer cooling fan is a good choice I just mounted mine in the bottom of the door. My small fridge works fine without a fan

    Ace electric boilers?

I would go down the stc1000 route with the probe in the mash, thermostats are not accurate. One thing though if you look at my pics the one shows my boiler covered in duct tape, that is holding in place three layers of the insulation you put on the wall behind radiators, my last brew was done in...

    Ace electric boilers?

Beercat you have done the same as I did except I ground the connector block down a bit to get the screw further down the element stub, your stub does look slightly shorter than mine but as long as you still have some of the red material left you should be fine. If you have a multimeter put it on...

    Ace electric boilers?

Sorry forgot about the boil dry bit:whistle:not connected but as long as you have filled it before you switch it on it will take a fair old time to boil dry and by then you have lost all your wort and would be ready for suicide anyway:lol:

    Ace electric boilers?

Removing the insulation was a bit tricky, you have to nibble away at it with side cutters but be careful, all you have is about 5 to 6mm of metal to connect to after you finish because you need to leave some insulation. The connectors are made from 15a connector block with the insulation...

    Ace electric boilers?

So first attempt at adding pictures not good quality but just shows the connections, each element has its own feed so I can control separately, if you are wondering why the ace is covered in duct tape, I added three layers of that insulation you fit behind radiators, the third pic shows my brew...

    boil time

The hot break occurs in the first 5 to 20 minutes, if yours is taking over an hour your boil may not be vigorous enough. http://howtobrew.com/book/section-1/boiling-and-cooling/7-2-the-hot-break

    Urn/kettle/boiler

I bought the ace boiler a few months back the new insulated one, it came with a false bottom and a grain bag and is reasonable quality, holds a decent boil the thermostat is about 10 degrees out, i mash in it as well as boil so I made a temp controller using an stc1000, but you cannot boil 30...

    Wilko Wheat Beer

I am with kman on this one, make sure your f v has plenty of headroom because I have done this a lot and my first two blew the lid off and made a hell of a mess, but it is the best wheat beer by far.

Youngs IPA not bubbling after day 12

I find that if I only put enough water to half fill the bottom bubbles of the airlock I see a lot more activity, one of my buckets I have to just fill the bottom loop to see activity because the lid seal is so bad
