    Brewferm Ambiorix

Had a few friends around tonight and enjoyed this after 8 months and it was epic. We are all home brewers but it ended up on a Brewferm quest through my beer cupboard. :drink: I now have a lot of space for new beers. Not so sure that this is a good thing....

    Coopers Ginger Beer Review

Mine has been in the FV for 13 days now, doing nothing for 5 days and then after intervention, another 8 days and is now at 1.004. I'll be honest, I had to double yeast this as the one the first one did nothing and I'm pretty sure it got far too cold. Chucked another "Wilko's ale yeast" in and...

    Milestone Green Man

Hmm - A possible failure? It's been in the garage wrapped in bubble wrap and its deader than a certain Norwegian Blue Parrot. The taste is fine, but is has no head or fizz, and it's still cloudy. So I popped in my LHBS and got a CO2 injector and blasted it (tip to newbs like myself - CO2 is...

    Brewferm Gallia

Just received this in the post form a mate for my birthday. Its the only Brewferm one I am yet to make that isn't "fruity" (cherry / raspberry). All of the have been wonderful, but the Diablo is still the bomb. I usually use Golden Syrup instead of sugar but wondering if with this being a...

    Milestone Green Man

Hello all, After a few weeks off, I got one of these for Xmas. Added a hop tea and made up as per instructions, 1 week in the FV, and its had 2 weeks in a barrel in my utility room at about 18 degrees. Had a few samples and it is rather good - as described, a light hoppy ale. Trouble is, I...

    Brewferm, Diablo

My little bottles of Diablo are now in the garage, maturing. Had a sneaky one the other evening and can only say that it is still the best lager non ale kit I have done. It's as close to Leffe Blonde as I have made. Kind of getting towards Duvel. I need a time-locked safe that will shut beer...

    Woodfordes Wherry Review

Disaster, let me do the wavy lines; Scooby Doo, back story to about 4 weeks ago. I bottled 38 lovely pints of WW. My first brew of WW in the barrel was gone, so after 2 months I braved the heat-wave and went into my garage, put a WW bottle in the fridge. Sweet baby Jesus and the Orphans...

    Brewferm, Diablo

I've done one with brewing sugar and one with Syrup. I thought the sugar one was nice, but the Syrup one has more "oomph" to the beer; more middle flavours etc. Just remember to add an extra 10% on top of required sugar - just for the fact the sugar has had water added.

    Brewferm, Diablo

Silly question, but if is sugar individual bottles, how much for a Becks / Bud style 275/300 ml bottles. 1/4 of a teaspoon for bubbly, 1/2 for fizz-tastic?

    Best brands for beer kits

Let's pretend it 1982, TOP OF THE POPS!! In at 4 - Muntons / Wilko's own. I think they are the same base kit but yet to have one fail. Tasty, doing what they say on the tin - if a bit weakly... At 3 - Coopers. Cracking base beer to add stuff too. A change in malt, a brew enhancer. Only one...

    Fizzing over

Have been doing this, but the reason I asked was to make sure the affected beers were not going to be wrecked in the long run. Will my Wherry return to previous awesome-ness once this heat has passed by?

    Fizzing over

Those in the UK may know that for the last weeks its been warm. Even hot. Trouble is, my beer is in the garage and over the winter its been about 8 degrees, coming up to a lovely 14 degrees for conditioning my bottles. unfortunately I think the temp has gotten a lot higher in the last few...

    Bottles

Hi all, I've been successfully using Newcastle Brown bottles (free supply from my local - about 60 a week) and Duvel / Verdet bottles in my brewing so far. Only had one "explosion" but that was from a double sugared Brewferm Pils. My own fault. I was just wondering if there are any types of...

    Brewferm 'Grand Cru' Review

Bottled this a month ago, having made using Golden syrup - the lazy man's Candi sugar! Having run 1 green bottle short for my Xmas beers (green bottle, red cap; very Xmas-y for individual presents!), I opened one of these that contained about 200ml left over from the brew. Fantastic after a...

    Brewferm Xmas Ale Review

Bottled this yesterday in advance prep for Xmas!! After 12 days in a 10L FV, had to resort to using a jug and pouring into unprimed Duvel bottles. Very little waste but what waste there was "ran" very easily - one tilt and it was like a swamp! Managed to get 20 x 330ml Duvel bottles and one...
