    Muntons Tap Room Series

I picked up the radler for £6 in a sale as it needs using up this month and I love radler. The 2 problems im hearing about it in reviews are 1) it is thin, and 2) is isnt as lemony as it should be. I have a possible solution: 1) mini mash some carapils - aids in body and head retention 2) 5 min...

Barrel S30 Valve and soda stream not holding CO2

Hi All, I have recently moved to beer in a keg after years of bottling faff! Much easier process! I got a 2 inch Barrel Cap with S30 Valve from Brewstore and a sodastream adaptor to save on single use co2 (and I have a sodastream anyway), bought for me for Xmas. I had a very nice festival ale...

    My Home made apple press

I know this isnt going to be of too much help to everyone, but we have an abundance of perry pears (and apples) most years, and I suggest joining (if you area in the area, or nearby) the Welsh Perry and Cider society. With this we get the use of a press and in return get to take away some of...

    Cider advice for newbie

Back in the old days (and some "cyder" producers now) just use natural yeasts which are naturally present on the fruit itself. supposed to be very nice indeed but I would imagine you would have to be very careful with sterility.

    Never assume

The good thing about them not delivering it to you is they are still liable for it.... the distributer/shop is liable to you but the delivery pepole are liable to them, so if it goes missing (even if they deliver it to your neightbour and you didnt ask, they are liable because their service...

    Bottled Beer vs can kits

@nbpickles it isnt just me, a lot of my friends who have tried my kit beers have said that too. (not just being kind). @LarryF I would have thought that some breweries cut corners when it comes to grains etc, but then you wouldnt use expensive grains to make DME or canned ME.... so how much are...

    Bottled Beer vs can kits

I have made quite a few 1 and 2 can kits, and am very impressed with them, even to the point that I think some of them have been better than professionally made beer. How is it then that a 1 can kit with DME can taste better than a brewery made beer (which presumably uses AG techniques)?? What...

    HBC American Pale Ale

I had a couple of bottles recently, one was nice and floral, the other not so. Perhaps a bit young. Hope this improves as the main difference between this and a can kit is the hoppy aroma (which I believe you can achieve with just dry hopping). Will have to wait and see if it improves, because...

    Clearing cider after fermentation

    HBC American Pale Ale

the instructions didnt come with anything after putting the yeast it (i dont think). so I used 140g of table sugar. Here is the bottled results. now we wait,.....
