Done my second stout on weekend, standard yeast but used some light brown sugar as well a brewing sugar and as previously recommended in this thread 2 tbsp of black treacle, this time though it did not go quite such a big bubbly head for so long only a day or so then died down? is that a bad...

thanks good job didnt do 500g then lol, not done yet will most likely do 1kg brewing sugar, or can I do 500g brew sugard and like 500g light brown sugar as we have some? Plus 2 table spoons of black treacle maybe?

I have done the stout before with just beer enhancer sugar. Would I do half the sugar enhancer (500g) and half black treacle (500g) would that be a good thing to try next?

I got this to do next and is it right I dont need to add the usual 1kg brewing sugar? just use what is in the kit malt, hops and yeast?

I best get drinking this first lot then lol hehe, will try soft brown/muscadava next time.

Tastes mine on weekend after 2 weeks in warm spot. Really nice actually more tasty than Guinness to not as creamy like heavy which is better in some ways. Imagine adding treacle in place of normal sugar will do wonders! Next time can i just swap white brew sugar for brown or muscadava sugar...

Sure should, I currently have 24 grolsch style glass bottles and 24 coopers pet bottles, will bottling mine today!!

Has calmed down now not so frothy but still leave lid loose as gas builds up. I have only added wilkos brew sugar, guess its to late to add anything else now? Will bottle this Saturday for sure!

I guess it was already 20% off to, no store would sell it if they know it out of date. I used to work in M&s and would often find so much out of date on long life stuff. My wife picked up mine from wilkos didnt think of date really but expect thats why they had a 20% off sale as lots to shift!

Will see what it is at Sat but will most likely leave it until following sat, the major frothing seems to have died down atleast but still giving off gas lol. Smells good to me though! Using beer belt to keep temp above 20c.
