    opened a bottle, was fizzy, about the same as youd expect, tastes decent. measured again with hydrometer, still same reading.... Do i re open and pour back into bin and add more yeast... or do i use as a mixer with vodka or gin

    ingredients = Sugar, Cotswold Spring Water, Glucose Syrup, Elderflowers, Fructose, Citric Acid, Natural Flavourings yeast was ordered online and used straight away. Temp should have all been ok. I will open a bottle tonight and see how fizzy it is

    ok, so my method should have produced much stronger alcohol? is it worth just using it as a mixer if it tastes nice or could i pour back into a vessel and try and try adding another packet of yeast?

    1 bottle of cordial which was mixed with about 5l of water as per dilution instructions. 800g of dextrose sugar 1.082 and 1.070

    So i tried to make some elderflower champagne from cordial. Added cordial and water to dilute to the correct amount, added 800g of sugar, lemon and champange yeast. Left for 2 weeks and bottled, problem is it only came out at 2% abv This was an experiment and i usually just brew beer kits...

    Have a keg of lager which is now ready to be stored in the cold, i was going to leave it in shed which of course with the current weather will mean its nicely chilled when ready to drink. my question is will it be safe in -oc temps? what temp would it have to be to freeze the keg? Thanks

    its going to go in a barrel anyway, il leave a few days me thinks as still a lot of bubbles, then il sieve before barrel just for piece of mind :) thanks

    i couldnt bottle the way it is the brew is full of lumps of ***** and all the stuff on top looks like an infection even though it smells fine

    Coopers heritage with malt extract (what it says to use) and 250g sugar, been about 12 days smells fine but strange clumps on surface and the beer had loads of particles in it, it still has bubbles rising, never had this before has something gone wrong? ive thought about transfering to another...

    elderflower champagne

    i gave it a stir and ive since been away from home a few days, just re tested and now shot up to 7%, a lot of bubbles rising like champagne and its now crystal clear, looks and tastes like somthing id pay a tenner a bottle for in a hop already :) will leave a while longer and see if it produces...

    it doesn't seem to be doing much now but the reading has gone from 1070 to around 1040 making around 4.5%, been kept at a nice temp etc. gonna leave it till mid next week anyway as i Haven't got time to bottle this weekend, but still seems low for over a week in the fv.

    Hello this has been in the FV for a week, took a Reading today.. it seems to have stopped producing bubbles and is showing up at about 5% ABV. It tastes very nice just a little sweet. Will this get any stronger? i added a pack of champagne yeast and 750g sugar to 6 litres, plus some citric...
