    John Bull IPA Review

G'mornin guys and gals. Got one of these on at the mo and it seems, stuck........... Not had this happen since my first ever (wherry) brew a couple of years ago. Made up to 20 litres, with 1kg brew enhancer and about 200g dextrose. OG 1048, by day 8 it was at 1018. Now at day 12 and it's still...

    Re: St Peters Cream Stout

Just barreled this one, brewed it a few times now so felt it had enough body to brew long with a little extra dextrose to push the abv back up. Nothing clever, just around 500g and brewed to 21.5 litres. Og 1051 5 days 1020 10 days 1014 13 days 1012 25 days 1010 (barreled, with 75g sugar)...

    Woodfordes Nelsons Revenge Review

Well, 6 days of fermentation at 17-19*C ambient temperature and the gravity today is at 1010! I've never had a Woodford kit get below 1012 before, I'll probably give it up to another week before kegging, I wonder if it'll go lower... Ps, trial jar was very encouraging!

    Woodfordes Nelsons Revenge Review

I got this on the go yesterday with 20g Fuggles pellets chucked in right at the start with the extract. Made up to 20 litres, og 1044, a long way to go to reach the 5% abv on the box! Smell was lovely...

    Woodfordes Nelsons Revenge Review

I got this on the go yesterday with 20g Fuggles pellets chucked in right at the start with the extract and boiling water, og 1044. It's got a long way to go to get near the 5% abv on the box! Smell was lovely...

    Re: Festival Razorback IPA Review

After barreling this about a month ago, it's gone! A couple weeks to carbonate, another to clear (crystal clear) and then gone! After a week of cold to clear this beer was at its best when young, after three of weeks or so the dry hop flavour became noticeably less, still nice though. Highly...

    bulldog easter brew

That bad cat looks good, hope this one's alright for you. Now I've just finished off razorback and have a free barrel, my next brew's a toss up between Nelson's Revenge or pilgrim's hope. Decisions, decisions...

    bulldog easter brew

The chocolate flavouring is in the malt extract. Mines just about carbonated, and due to go in the cool to condition. A little taste yesterday suggests it'll be drinkable, but likely my least favourite brew to date. It has a very strong, sickly sweet 'artificial chocolate flavour' taste - but...

    bulldog easter brew

Finally got round to kegging this, still at 1012, 20days in the fv in total. Trial jar tasted much the same as before. A few weeks wait before the first quality control taster now...

first time s30 user - losing pressure too quick

Hi all, for my latest brew (razorback IPA) I got a replacement cap for my 'homebrew online' barrel, with a hambleton bard valve to replace the standard pressure release one. After two weeks carbing and three conditioning I starting drinking it. All good at first, then after three or four pints...

    Which kit to Fuggle?

Cheers guys. One question, why not add hops to a stout kit? Surely there are hops in there already anyway?

    Which kit to Fuggle?

Still no replies... My current bank holiday thinking is that if the Yule brew is as strong with cinnamon and ginger as the Easter brew is with chocolate then you wouldn't notice a few more hops. The pilgrims hope sounds heavily hopped already. That leaves the cream stout or the nelsons revenge...

    bulldog easter brew

As of a few hours ago the gravity had dropped further to 1012, here's hoping for a little more over the next few days. Temps been a steady 18-20℃. Trial jar tasted much better than before- bit less malty and more bitter, still quite strong in chocolate flavours though, however they are better...

    Which kit to Fuggle?

Just seen the hop tea vs dry hop thread, which is food for thought. So please ignore all but this first question. Ta very much...

    Which kit to Fuggle?

Hi all, after a little advice and opinion. I've got 20g of Fuggles and not sure where to put them. Currently got a Bulldog Easter chocolate stout with the included hop tea added a couple of days ago, and set for bottling by the end of the week. Aside from that I have ready to go next... St...
