Help to improve an extract milk (chocolate) stout recipe

Hi all, On my 5th or 6th brew now and still finding my feet. My most successful so far has been my stout. I found a recipe online and added some chocolate (and cinnamon) to it and it's tasty and popular with my friends. My only complaint is that it feels a bit 'thin'. It lacks mouthfeel and...

Is there a go to fermentor for 10L brews?

Thanks all. All very helpful advice.

Is there a go to fermentor for 10L brews?

Hi all, I currently have a ~25l fermentation bucket, a similar size bottling bucket (smaller diameter), and a 10l bucket. The last two don't appear to be airtight. Is there a recommended go to bucket, jerry can, vessel, for 1/2 size brews that people use? Would something like this work ok...

Wilko IPA kit to 'NEIPA' Using Cellar Dwellars Recipe

A belated thanks to you both. I'll add the recipe to BeerSmith (as I have it installed) and take a look at the BF calculator too. I'm hoping that the extract isn't tooo bitter but a little bit won't do me any harm. Thanks again.

Wilko IPA kit to 'NEIPA' Using Cellar Dwellars Recipe

Inspired by this video, (further discussion and recipe here), I am planning on making a (very inauthentic) NEIPA from a Wilko IPA kit I picked up in the sale. The video and recipe use a Cooper's kit as the base and then does a mini-mash plus all the hops to customise it. Now looking at the...

A Simple Guide to Extract Brewing

Just for clarification on this. If I am looking at a final volume of 9lt, I could steep and then boil e.g. 4lt and then top up cold water? Are there are any 'rules' with regards to doing the steep/boil and the amount of water used? I am assuming there would be a minimum volume of water required...

    Woodfordes Wherry Review

Thanks again @terrym - I was getting my terminology wrong! I notice that he doesn't sparge too, which I was planning to do. I'll read up more on adding the DME.

    Woodfordes Wherry Review

Thanks @terrym , I appreciate the encouragement. I went to the brew shop, bought a replacement seal for the valve and, I think, it is sealed now - though who knows. I did add a little more sugar - so fingers crossed. As per @An Ankoù 's suggestion, I'll hide it away in a corner for a week or so...

    Woodfordes Wherry Review

Thanks for the clarification. I am certainly seeing this. It doesn't bother me but it certainly hasn't improved the beer. After three or so days in the pressure keg there is little evidence of carbonation happening from the sample(s) I have drawn. And it tastes pretty ropey. Should I just try...

    Woodfordes Wherry Review

Well I siphoned it into my pressure barrel with around 80gms sugar. No obvious signs of anything happening so far... Will test it after 4 days to see if there's any carbonation going on. I'm feeling suspicious about this beer.

Thanks. I think! This wasn't that warm and only around 22 when I pitched. I guess I shouldn't worry and just carry on regardless.

    Woodfordes Wherry Review

As I am wont to do, I messed around with this kit and now I am worrying. I steeped some malt and some oats and added them to the kit, following the instructions. Firstly, OG was weirdly low (I thought I had brewed slightly short so was epexcting it to be relatively high), though after leaving...
