    Woodforde's Bure Gold

It is without a doubt the best kit I have ever brewed. I have already ordered another kit to get brewing with as I can see this isn't going to last me very long, I only kegged it on 22/02 so it's a little young yet but after a sneaky couldn't resist little taster last night I ended up down...

2 disasters and 2 great brews

Thanks for all the comments, the Lashings ginger beer is a 2 can kit, it brewed ok, it just doesn't taste either very ginger or very beer, it's not one or the other a bit of a disappointment. The Youngs harvest pils is a 1 can kit and won't ever be purchased again. A note about 1 can kits, my...

2 disasters and 2 great brews

Youngs Harvest pils.. yuk Lashings Ginger beer yuk I really didn't like either of these, the youngs was just nasty. The lashings, well I still have 17L to drink but it's not liked, it's not ginger enough because the hops drown the flavour. Woodfordes Bure gold started that on the 9th, kegged...

psi for closed transfer of beer

Your numbers are more of less what I use, 10PSI all round, Once kegged I don't use continuous pressure from my CO2 cylinder but rather as sson as I have transferred I top the keg up to 10PSI then shut the cylinder off, I only open the cylinder again when I am serving then shut it off straight...

    Filtration

I reverse filtered through my hop spider and that stopped all the hop debris.

    Can opener

Apart from a Lashing's Ginger Beer I did not long ago, all the kits I get like Coopers and Woodfordes all come in cans. I can't find a decent can opener anywhere, every butterfly one I have purchased only opened the lid halfway before failing, electric ones can never grip the can correctly and...

    And we worry about infection

I can't remember if I have posted this before or not. The brewers didn't obsessively sanitise in those times because there wasn't really a sanitiser they could use. Yet look what their unsanitized equipment beer did...

    Filtration

Once again, thanks for all the suggestions, I can't "cold crash" kegs, but that's not an issue, I brew ales and they are happily stored and drunk at room temp. I have both time and patience, on average it's 3-4 months from the time I keg until I start to drink an ale so plenty of time to clear...

    Filtration

My hop spider is what I am going to filter through, thanks :) I haven't done it before so didn't know the answer. No garage or concrete floor :( Yes..yes..it was a horrible feeling as soon as I put the pellets in the realisation the hop spider was still on the table lol

    Filtration

I want to keep the yeast cells for secondary fermentation, I just want to lose the hop bits Thanks for your answer, sadly I can't cold crash or I would.

    Filtration

I used hop pellets instead of hops and they disintegrated leaving the brew full of "bits", my bad, should have put them into a basket but I just plain forgot

    Filtration

I am planning on filtering an Ale through a 300 micron mesh filter when kegging Will that also remove all the yeast, IE will I have to force carbonate in the keg as opposed to a secondary ferment?

    Cost of Beer Kits

Just did a Young's Harvest pils a few weeks back, TBH I wasn't that impressed with it.
