I have 5kg of rhubarb cut up and frozen i’d love to try a rhubarb wine with it but not sure where to start. Does anybody have an idiots guide of the process and ingredients needed please. I have all the equipment needed just not sure of a recipe and how to. Thanks in advance.

You may not credit this, but I have a book with 27 rhubarb wine recipes (I'm not a fan of it as a fruit, so haven't tried any of them yet).

Here's a few to set you off! From Peggy Hutchinson's 'Home Made Wine Secrets' - an old style book, but hopefully of some use.

I cant stand rhubarb (school dinners yuk,!! )

The wine however is delicious,
Thankfully it tastes nothing like rhubarb when nicely matured.

Interesting process. I don't use any Campden tabs, but I pour the sugar over the chopped stalks and this extracts the juice through osmosis overnight. Use the gallon of water to rinse the residual sugar off the rhubarb using a colander. Pitch and away we go. When you rack fir the first time you can add any kind of flower petals or herbs and it'll take on the flavour.
Beware of recipes for rhubarb champagne that recommend vinegar and far too early bottling.
