Alright dudes.

I've had a brew in the FV for 2 weeks which is ready to bottle. The thing is that wife has given me a squillion "just jobs" (Could you just put up a shelf, paint the kitchen, lay a patio, cure world famine, etc...)

How long can I leave it in unopened in the brew fridge before it goes manky? A couple more weeks or am I best defying wife and getting it done*?

You need to find out what's up... I had the same problem about a year ago and you would not believe the ramifications and consequences once certain things came to light - a very traumatic and torrid time ensued. But that's by the way. The beer, in my experience, will be fine up to 4 weeks. Maybe more, but I've never left it longer than that. Just don't lift the lid for any reason.

No point asking what she's got the ****'s about, we know the stern answer will be "I haven't got the shits" accompanied by a growl.
I've left beer in the FV for close to 6 weeks on one occasion with no adverse effects.
At least with brewing, there are guidelines to follow which will generally prove successful, with women, the guidelines haven't been written yet and if they had they would change on a regular basis.
We wouldn't want to be without them though.
 
had a few brews left in the FV for 6 weeks and generally leave mine 3-4 weeks before bottling, i have found i get a better beer if its left in the FV longer than 2 weeks

I found out the problem - apparently I'm up to something. She doesn't know what and neither do I for that matter.

We had one of those circular conversations:
Wife: "I know you're up to something"
Me: "Oh... What is it?"
Wife: "I don't know"
Me: "Me neither"
Wife: "But I know you're up to something"...

Anyway, back to beer! I want some! :beer1:

that's only a problem if you "are up to something....." :P
 
Hi Mr Fro, I've been happily married for 10 years, unfortunately it's my 34th wedding anniversary this year! I think things started to go wrong when my wife asked me if her a*se looked fat in a pair of jeans and I replied "of course it does cos you have a fat a*se dear" all I can say is damned if you do damned if you don't my friend
