Used bottles for collection in Liverpool area.

Alright fellas, got about 25 500ml put to one side, probably have more for next weekend (provided I can stop them from being binned and we sell enough cider!). They're ready for collection if someone wishes to drop me a PM for the details on when and where you can get them. Also we've got tons...

Used bottles for collection in Liverpool area.

All the bottles are crown cap friendly! (The 500ml are mostly old rekorderlig cider bottles). I'll start storing them away now and let you guys know how many I've got by Monday.

Figured I mays well mention it here, but my bar goes through a lot of brown 330/500ml bottles weekly, if anyone needs any putting to one side, let me know and I can arrange for them to be picked up from the bar. You'll just have to do the cleaning yourself!

    Murray's Black Pepper Porter!

Bottled the two batches last week. Didn't use a secondary nor did I batch prime. Just spooned sugar into each bottle. S-04 surprisingly came up at 5.25% ABV whilst the T-38 only registered at 5%. I prematurely opened a bottle of the S-04 today, for my first brew I'm fairly proud, it's got a...

    Murray's Black Pepper Porter!

I think that'd be the end of me if I started shaving sheep in my flat! Sure. Although this is my first ever beer brewed so it could turn out terrible! I'll keep you updated in a few weeks. Thanks for the advice mate! I did put the bag in my FV to drip for about half an hour, giving it a good...

    Murray's Black Pepper Porter!

Finally got round to my first ever brew day on Thursday. I've been so busy lately with work and trips that I'd not managed to get on the forums here at all, but now I've started my first brew I thought I'd let you lot know! As I stated on my welcome thread, I've dove right into BIAB methods...

Will 5ltr water bottles hold the pressure of an ale

Fermenting with yes, pressurising with co2/priming sugar, I doubt it.

    BIAB guide for beginners.

Beautifully written and easily understandable guide for BIAB users! I'm planning my first ever all grain BIAB brew in a week or so, so I'll be using this guide to reference. Will let you know how I get on, thanks!

What does Sloe Gin taste like?

Sloe to me, has a very tart taste with slightly fragant notes afterwards. Prunes however, I dunno. Never tried them! (For a reason!)

    Milk Stout

No worries mate! I've done a little more research and someone suggests not going over 500g for a 5 gallon batch and anything over 1kg could ruin the beer. Honestly, I don't know, with things like this, theres no wrong or right, just preference! (And a sweet-toothed missus' to please!)

    Good morning gents and ladies!

Yeah unfortunately theres still a lot of macro brewed swill on tap in most places. But if you're ever in Liverpool again, let me know and I'll direct you to some lovely watering holes!

    Good morning gents and ladies!

Cheers mate! I managed to find a 10 gallon stockpot (after much internet scouring, thanks French ebay!) for about 50 quid, so I'm planning on 5 gallon batches. Mostly used Wilko's for equipment etc. I'm from Huyton originally, but I've lived and worked in the Toxteth/Baltic Triangle area now...

    Milk Stout

Quick scan around the internet says to use between 500g-1kg from a 5 Gallon batch. Honestly, I guess it's just down to have sweet you want your beer to taste?
