    Black Sabbath

Same happened for me too. 1.020 exactly. After 3 weeks, I racked to secondary, gave it a bit of a stir and left it for another 2 weeks. It came out at 1.012 and was absolutely flipping gorgeous!

    Replace 1 2.7Kw Backer Element

Hi Guys, One of my elements has finally died during last brew. I don't know enough about them to determine if it's repairable. I had a spillage and wort got in there, sparks were heard, flames were seen... yea. Anyway I have 2 x 2.7Kw Backer elements fitted to my 70ltr pot (one of those...

    Black Sabbath

This is a really great beer. This is the best beer I have brewed. I am using a corny for the first time and I force carbonated. It's just amazing, well done Clibit and thanks for sharing. I'm serving this cold but it has a very warming aftertaste

    co2 Regulator for corny keg

I didn't get a response. But I have found a 1.5kg co2 bottle from an Adams Gas supplier in Bristol for £15 + £25 deposit. Seems reasonable and he says I can exchange for a bigger bottle without a bigger deposit! I have got everything ready but I have realised that I'm missing a...

    co2 Regulator for corny keg

Already done it. I'll update here when I get a response.

    co2 Regulator for corny keg

Can I use this co2 bottle do you think? http://www.gas-uk.co.uk/carbon-dioxode-co2-5-litre.html They offer a 'beverage' gas which consists of a co2/nitrogen mix but the bottle is too big at 910mm.

Help me choose a fridge for my kegerator

@ghb As in not enough room? The one I was looking at, the fridge section was about 900mm high, should be plenty. @chewie thanks for explaining the bad beer logic! I did always wonder. @Manse I think you are onto a winner here. It makes sense at least for the short term to get a used...

Help me choose a fridge for my kegerator

I'm well aware that I won't be benefiting from the warranty! As soon as I cut into anything that will likely be void. I'm planning on trying to remove the side of the fridge and inspecting for cooling lines before I cut the actual metal sheet. Glad that gas can (and should) be kept out of the...

    Black Sabbath

I racked to secondary today and gave it a bit of a stir to try and get it going again. It's at 1.017 and tasting good!

Help me choose a fridge for my kegerator

Looks like I'm going to build a kegerator! I'm going to buy a new fridge I reckon. Right now, I have 1 corny keg but in the future, I would like 4 kegs hooked up, swmbo would also like a chest freezer for storage. I think I can fit 2 kegs with gas in an under the counter fridge, so I'd need...

    co2 Regulator for corny keg

I was in a bit of a rush when I posted this and I've caused some confusion sorry! I'm not getting that specific regulator, I meant just one like that, I just google it and picked one 'like' the one I was looking at earlier. The one you've posted Soton looks ideal. Thanks for your post, it's...

    co2 Regulator for corny keg

The link would be really helpful, thanks :-D Not sure I can afford the £100 plus all the other bits at the moment so I might have to settle for a longer term more expensive version but it depends on the saving!

    co2 Regulator for corny keg

HI Guys, I know there are a few threads about this already but I couldn't definitively find out my answer! I have a used corny keg and I need to buy a co2 regulator. Eventually, I will be using 3-4 cornys so I will need a multi setup. If I bought a regulator similar to this one...

    Black Sabbath

Moved it inside last night as it was only at 1.019 looks like it will be a 4 week ferment as my corny won't be ready in time!

    Black Sabbath

Yea I can move it inside the house. Guess that I will do that until I install heating/cooling to the brewery.

Oh and this guy sells the yeast for £2.99 + 99p shipping http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/nordbru?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 I didn't link to the item as I guess it will expire

    Black Sabbath

I brewed this last weekend (10 days ago) and I've today tested the gravity and it's at 1020. I'm usually down to 1010 or so after 14 days. I tend to ferment for 3 weeks but I don't think I'm going to get there with this one. I've been fermenting in my new brew shed but it's insulated and the...

    My Home Brew Shed Build

Massive lol! I'll do a real picture like that when it's finished! Yes I have a tap area. Just to the right of the hatch as you look outside. I have room for a couple refrigerators under the counter. I have 1 corny keg at the moment but will no doubt but more. I'd like to have 3-4 taps...

    My Home Brew Shed Build

I have decided on the steam extraction. I have contacted a local fabricator to ask about making me one of these out of stainless: I have a rough idea of an estimate after chatting to one of the sales guys. Then I plan to route it to some of that manrose 100mm ducting to go outside via a...
