    Washing machine clicking

You are probably correct there, I always use the lowest speed on mine. My friend also said to buy the cheapest and most basic model I could with as few 'programmes' as possible. When he got a 'call out' and it was a poor single mother he used to fix it free or cheap or, if it was beyond sorting...

    Washing machine clicking

I have a friend whose job is repairing washing machines and his advice to me was 'buy the cheapest washing machine you can find and use it until it breaks down, then don't bother repairing it just go out and get another cheap washing machine because they are not worth repairing...' he is an...

    screw top bottle seals

Hi Conner, This is exactly what I need but at £17.50 for 50 they work out rather expensive! I managed to get the correct size of silicone tubing from Ebay for about £7 for a metre and with the help of a Stanley knife, made my own for a lot less than 35p each! Thanks for the post though...much...

    screw top bottle seals

WoW! 'several hundred' bottles...you are right they are the best bottles for homebrewing, incredible thick glass and almost unbreakable. I have some pint and a half clear 'Grolsch' type bottles that Poundstretcher was selling full of pink lemonade for £1 so I bought 15 of them and emptied the...

    screw top bottle seals

Thanks Reg, I have found that only source of this size of silicone tubing on ebay and will order a metre of tubing tomorrow. My father's old bottles are beautiful and hold some sentimental value for me...I remember him filling them with his brew and I am glad I have them to use...thank you again...

    screw top bottle seals

Right Reg, thank you I will try that...the IDs of the tops of my bottles seem to be 19-20mm so will the silicone tube seals stretch over that? 12mm to 19mm? I have tried 'Bunsen Burner' type gas tubing and have soaked them in boiling water to make them pliable enough to fit but it is one hellova...

punk ipa is it as good is it was?

I have found, over the years, that when a new product is introduced to the general public they are made with the best of everything and, after we have become used to the product, the manufacturing company start to use cheaper ingredients until the quality of the product is compromised and...

    screw top bottle seals

I will contact the Hop Shop tomorrow but the illustration is a 'top view' they look like replacement seals for the old plastic reusable bottle tops I had for my Lemonade/IRN BRU type bottles...but my fathers bottles are a lot older than these.

    screw top bottle seals

Yes, indeed, my fathers bottles seem to be the same ones as Noah used to bottle his beer on the Ark...or out of a bottle museum...looks like I will try to find some suitable silicon type tubing and make the seals...

    screw top bottle seals

Hi there, I am returning to brewing beer after a few years, I used to bottle in 'Lemonade' type bottles which I had to ditch the last time I moved house. I have now inherited my father's beer bottles which are very thick glass, just under 2 and a half pint bottles with stone screw tops and...

For Sale: Quart (2 pint) flagons internal screw stopper

Hi there, I wonder if you can help me. I have quite a few of these large glass stone topped screw top bottles which were my father's. I want to start brewing again but all the rubber seals on the bottles are well perished and I cannot source any more. I remember my father cutting new seals...

    bottle seal problem.

Hi there, I have just joined the forum because I am restarting making beer at home but I have one problem stopping me. I inherited my father's old bottles which are all stone topped screw tops but the rubber seals are all perished. I remember him making seals from rubber tubing years ago. I have...
