    Cheap refractometers

I did haha. Thought it was wrongly packed

    What did you brew today?

Minch Hook Head Irish Pale Malt from the Homebrew Company. I like it and a quite a few other people do. £19.95 for 25KG

    What did you brew today?

Sorry, only noticed this. Recipe below, volumes and ABV ended up different. It also has a massive hoppy fruity flavour for some reason when I wasn't aiming for that. Also would have liked more bitterness to balance the flavour. Put the 0 min additions in right at flameout, left in for...

    What did you brew today?

Brewed a pale ale. Magnum for bittering, centennial late additions and centennial/galaxy dry hop. Managed to bottle 33 x 500ml, labelled afterwards. It's 6%, ho ho ho. I have a Mosaic IPA that only has another couple of days to go and 9 litres of Strawberry & Lime cider that I'm hoping is ready...

    Easy Keg 5L

I was using oxyclean, leave it in for half an hour, rinse several times. Then I was putting a drop of starsan, putting the plastic lid on, shaking a few times and leaving it. Maybe the starsan was in to long until I used it again, I've a feeling as it's acidic it burnt away at the covering in...

    Easy Keg 5L

Well I was hoping I'd damaged it in some way. I'll buy a couple more and give them another go. Love having the party star tap and a keg in my fridge so hopefully it works out.

    Easy Keg 5L

Had 2 kegs left with a stout in them. Just put the party star on one of them, tastes of rust. Either I'm not treating them right or they're not worth it. Lucky I bought 60 bottles recently

    Easy Keg 5L

I've chucked 3 of these out because they rusted inside round the seam where it joins and tainted the beer. May have overcarbed them but am wary about getting them again.

    Burco/cygnet 30ltr boiler specifics

I measured 26 L to the max mark using 5 Ashbeck water bottles plus an extra litre. I measured 6 L to the tap.

    Brewnight: Strawberry and Lime TC

I started fermenting this on Monday night, it's bubbling away. Thanks for the recipe Roddy [emoji4] I adjusted it for 9L, I put in all the syrup including the priming syrup at the start by accident. Not sure whether to liquor back at the end and prime with table sugar or try and stop it early...

    Holland & Barrett Malt Extract

Is the Meridian malt extract any good? My local health shop (not H&B) has it for £1.50 a jar all the time

    Sky Sport

Exactly. Don't let them in, don't give them your name. Neither do you have to let them in with the police present; they should not be there as licensing is an act of parliament, not law.

    Coopers Canadian Blonde Advice Please

I have done it a few times. Added Coopers BE1, 500g light DME. Left in fermenter for about 7 days then dry hopped with 50g Saaz for 4 days. It's a lovely pint

    Inkbird + brewbelt

I have mine set to 20C and it keeps it very close to that. Not sure what will happen now the temperatures are going up. I've turned off the inkbird and am letting the FV sit for a couple of days, it's holding at around 18C at the moment

    Inkbird + brewbelt

I have an inkbird, will get a fridge at some stage but the inkbird controls a heat pad that the FV sits on. It works great. I previously had a big plastic box with water in that controlled an aquarium heater but this is tidier
  16. Fictional

    Some free Inkbird as compensation!

Can you put me in the draw for an ITC-306T? Thanks!

Does anybody know how long do these sales usually last?

    Which Beer Next

I have done 2 Coopers Canadian Blonde kits and a Wherry. I used Beer Enhancer 1, 500g light spraymalt and dry hopped it with 30g Saaz leaf hops for 4 days, came out beautiful. I know it probably puts it up to the same price as the Wherry kit but I much preferred it, I'll be doing it again.

    Worst commercial beer

Coors Light. Over carbed and pretty tasteless. Becks. I get a skunky taste off the bottles

    Guinness: What's happened?

Yeah the used isinglass for clearing, they've changed filtration equipment. They haven't announced as they're waiting for all the old stock to be used up so still might be fish pish in the odd one. That's shouldn't change a recipe though.
