    50L or 30L all-in-one brew systems

Hi Pete, Malt Miller had a deal on the Brew Monk shortly after so I went for that. I'd say £499 for a 65L Hopcat sounds like a great deal to me though, probably worth the wait!

    50L or 30L all-in-one brew systems

In case anyone from the future comes here, Hopcat just got back to me, said it's fine, said minimum volume in the 45 is 12L

    50L or 30L all-in-one brew systems

Hi, just wanted to pick this old thread up as it seems the right place to discuss small batches in a Hopcat... I'm thinking of getting the Hopcat mk3 45L, not sure how different in physical size it is to the older 50L but presumably not much, but anyway, I will likely be doing 19-23L AG kits...

Which all in one brewing system

@Galena Just chiming in as I am currently doing the obligatory 3 weeks of research before making a similar decision! By the looks of the product page on Hopcat site, it does have a sight glass. Only downside since the OP seems to be the price has shot up to £499 :-( Did you get the Hopcat in...

    Klarstein Brauheld Pro Mash Kettle

Hi, hoping someone can help with a question re the controller on the Brauheld... I have the more basic Maischfest and am thinking of upgrading, but I find I have to set the temp control to 102 degs to get a rolling boil, which is fine, but I see the product page for the Brauheld says it goes...

    Liquid Volume at Temperature

This is exactly the answer I was after, thank you!

    Liquid Volume at Temperature

Hello! Bit of a technical/maths based question for you! So I did my 4th all grain brew today (Son of Punkie from MM) and was pondering the amount of water I am using. I use the calculator at Sparge Water Calculator | MoreBeer to work out my sparge water. It says on there that theres an...

    FermZilla

If it's any consolation I have been reading through these pages looking for EXACTLY this info! Bought this for missus to do cider extract kits but looks like I won't be able to bin that old plastic fv bucket after all :-(

    Forgot to Purge Keg

Yes, am force carbonating with a view to leaving it to condition for a week to take the edge off the bitterness and then getting into it. If that gives me 3 weeks to drink it then ok, lockdown challenge accepted!

    Forgot to Purge Keg

Hello! I made my 3rd all grain brew a fortnight ago (Son of Punkie from MaltMiller). Feels like I'm starting to get the hang of it - at the very least I don't have to do one thing then keep having to stop to look up what the next thing is supposed to be... again! Anyway, just transferred...

    Calling all Klarstein Owners.

Just to chip in on this old thread, I have a 35L Maischfest (on sale £199 with the £10 sign up discount). Did the Malt Miller Two Hearted kit on it, which is a 6kg grain bill - didn't really like the vessel as a mash tun, I thought the mash ratio seemed way too thick, had to add 3L more strike...

Cleaning your stainless steel? (SS brewbuckets)

Hi, I just received an SS Brewbucket and as I don't have any of the recommended first time cleaning agent (Tri-Sodium Phosphate) I did it with VWP (before reading this thread :-( ). After reading this and seeing it labelled as definitely not safe I decided to email them for clarification and got...

    Youngs APA Stall?

Well amazingly enough after adding a few teaspoons of nutrient and giving it a stir on Sunday it does seem to have got going again! Took a reading yesterday (Wednesday) and it had dropped to 10 after being stuck on 14 for a fortnight. Have now dry hopped and will be bottling this weekend...

    Youngs APA Stall?

OK, thanks all, will crack on with the next phase this weekend then!

    Youngs APA Stall?

Thanks, well I have now stuck a few spoons of nutrient in, given it a stir and given the heat a quick boost so I'll let you know how it goes. I didn't have time to bottle this weekend anyway so thought I might as well see what happens! Out of interest, what would happen if I just stuck a bit...

    Youngs APA Stall?

OK thanks. I might see if wilko have any nutrient on my lunch break tomorrow and then give it a stir and one more week. If there's still no change next week and I bottle this sweet can I get away without adding the extra priming sugar and still carbonate adequately do you think?

    Youngs APA Stall?

Hello! I'm brand new to brewing after the missus bought me the Youngs APA kit for christmas (little did she realise the kit itself was only a fraction of what I'd need to actually make it haha) Anyway, I did my first brew day 3 weeks ago and followed all the excellent advice I found here...
