    Turton's UHB (Ultra Hoppy Beer)

I never worry about the IBU's. It's always a decent drop.

    Turton's UHB (Ultra Hoppy Beer)

63.3 so should be a little bitter. But done a 93 in the past and was superb.

Disappointed with kits is BIAB worth it?

My 2 pennyworth. Go AG! It's not difficult and I brew beers superior to most pub beers and work out to around 30p per pint! I bought a coolbox and a 30 Litre food grade plastic bucket, 2 Tesco value kettles for the elements and a few bits of copper tubing, connectors and ball valves. It takes...

Crisp brand maris otter any different?

I've tried Fawcett's and Crisp M.O. With the Fawcett's I tend to get a slightly higher efficiency but unsure if that's due to the brand of M.O. or something else. My beer's always tasted good whichever I've used. Terry.

    Turton's UHB (Ultra Hoppy Beer)

Not posted (or brewed) for a while so I thught I would as I've just created a recipe. I love my hoppy beers and have had a great deal of success with Citra and NZ Cascade so I thought I'd try a different hop this time. I looked through the freezer and found an unopened bag of Green Bullet...

Will chitosan beer finings affect yeast cake?

Buy new. The kit yeast is lo quality. False economy. I bin it if I do a kit and use S04. Works well with wherry.

    Hop Schedule advice please

    Bittered that should have been.

    Hop Schedule advice please

The kit will already be buttered so you just want aroma and flavour schedules. Go for the cascade only. 15g @ 15 minutes. 25g @ 5 minutes. 40g @ 0 minutes (at flameout for 20 minutes) That's how I'd do it but I've only ever used whole hops. Best of luck.

    When to bottle IPA

No idea guys. I nicked the photo from Google :-)

    When to bottle IPA

No need to rack it to a fermenting vessel. Fermenting for 2 weeks in the fermenting bin and leave the lid tightly closed. No idea why you rack to secondary. I never have.

Citra hops-First time I've used them.

As there's no Citra in it yet I'd go large. Try 50 grams dy hopped for a few days.

Citra hops-First time I've used them.

For my 23l Citra Ale brews I use 100g Citra. Don't worry about it sounding a lot - it's great.

    Big beer brew evening.

Well, it's had 1 week in the bottles at room temperature and is clearing nicely. Had a bottle to see how it's coming on. 1 word: TANGERINES!!!!! Already a fantastic smell and taste but doesn't taste like 7% beer. Hits like one though. Think I've got a winner on my hands here.

Bit of extra cash to spend!

My chiller cost me £44 from Ebay. So do both I reckon.

US-05 is a floating cake OK to whack it to make it drop?

I normally leave it 2 weeks beofre bottling. That way I've never found the need to rack to a secondary. It's almost clear then with most brews.
