    Simple IPA recipe

Hi all :) The last of my wherry kit is coming out of the fv tomorrow and I've had a go at the all grain recipe here https://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/threads/have-a-go-at-simple-ag.51779/ but I'm looking for a simple IPA recipe that has instructions/a method with it too. I've had a quick...

    Bottom of bottle

Morning I bottles my first lot of beer a couple of days ago and the carb drops (yes I know, it's cheaper to use sugar - I just saw some on offer and was tempted to try it) seem to have created a rather odd colour at the bottom of my bottle. Is this normal? It's more noticeable at the bottom but...

Have a go at simple AG

Do I need to put the hops in a bag using the OPs method? Also do when you say heat to 75 Deg and 80 Deg do I turn heat off when it reaches this temp?

    Hello from a novice!

Only a week to go until it's done in the fermentation bucket :) Can I bottle straight out of the bucket and put some sugar or carb drops in the bottles or do I need a separate bucket to mix the sugar in to? Note from the bucket with tap I purchased that beer is currently in: Little Bottler...

    Hello from a novice!

Just the yeast that came in the pack. The Krausen is now laid on the bottom of the vessel after 2 and a half days!

    Hello from a novice!

Is this what it should look like after 24 hours? It definitely looks bubbly, but not much activity in the air lock Is this slightly brown patches the formation of a Krausen? Hope it's not mould already

    Hello from a novice!

To test at on going intervals should I run a bit out of the tap or dip the jar in?

    Hello from a novice!

I messaged the manufacturer and it is 25l. Should I still brew short to say 20l? I like it a bit stronger!

    Hello from a novice!

Just noticed my first mistake Bought a 23l vessel but a 40pint wherry kit Will the vessel be too small? Should I just brew half and if so will it harm the brew if I put more than half the yeast in?

    Hello from a novice!

I've got an earlier finish at work tomorrow so my hope was to start then but I still don't think I'll have time so it will have to be the weekend. I'll take plenty of notes and I've got a couple of people lined up to taste it :) We've got a local homebrew shop in chesterfield so I'm going to...

    Hello from a novice!

I've got a spot on a built in desk in one of the spare rooms that is the other side of the room to the radiator so I'm going to try there first. My general thoughts on sanitation were Fill vessel to Brim so it covers lid too and leave stirring equipment etc in for 30min . Then run some of this...

    Hello from a novice!

I'll be saving up beer bottles (and I've told my father in law to save some too)! Definitely want to go down the bottle route for now. Purely just because i like opening a bottle! Something great about it. Can't want to get going :) although the temperature for fermentation is going to be my...

    Hello from a novice!

My plan is to go to all grain eventually but just see how the first one turns out. I love trying different beers (mainly pale ales and bitters) so I'm hoping I can make s decent go of it. I'm not overly patient so that's something I need to learn :laugh8:

    Hello from a novice!

Hello all :) whilst I've already posted for advice in the forum I thought I'd say a proper hello here! My equipment comes tomorrow/Thursday (home brew online starter kit) and I've gone for a Woodforde wherry kit to start with. I'm sure I'll be asking a lot of daft questions along the way but...
