Beer for garden slugs (Slug Trap)

This year I wish to setup up my allotment pest control since slugs are a problem on my plot due to its location to natural cover. Beer Slug traps worked well last year, but I used the dregs, left in the fermenter. I'm going to require much more slug beer this year. So... Given they are...

    My first wine kit MYO

So after reading some recent chat about "The Range" wine kits. I now seem to own one. I have read the thread and sub threads: New (to me) Wine Kit - Very informative. Still I have a couple of questions: 1. I own a fermzilla (Max temp 55c), Is it ok to fill the brewzilla up as normal and...

    Made my first cider....but

Hello, Been AG brewing for a while but recently I picked raspberries, rhubarb & strawberries. So I thought, I'll try a cider. Extracted the juice by leaving with sugar on top. Simmered the juice at 70C to pasteurize, cooled, topped up with apple juice. Did not have any cider yeast, so used...

Does anyone else use their hop spider in this way.

Ages back, I found that my hop spider sits perfectly in my fermzilla opening. So ever since, i use it as a pre filter. Just thought I'd share, since reading a couple of post of junk getting into FV.

I'll make it fit in the fridge.

My taller fridge is now the keggerator, so the smaller one needs to accommodate the fermzilla. 90% of the weight is on the main supporting shelf, 10% on the collection jar. Need to strengthen the shelf tomorrow, then it will take the full weight. Just using for a cold crash, but will fit the...

    Kettle Cleaning

Morning all, So my brew kettle (Brewzilla) has been in the garage (very dry garage) for a couple of weeks, since I last brewed. I noticed the other day that some mould had started to develop. :-( After my last brew I cleaned with VWP, but i'm wondering if I've not done a good enough job...

Small batch AG Brews - Fermentation

Hello all, So my first AG brew was a small batch DIPA. See: https://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/threads/neil-brewday.85379/ My issue is, with my vast experience (2 kits) doing 23l batches, the fermentation takes over a week and the airlock activity slowly reduces as the days go by. My 12l...

    Neil Brewday

OK, so this is my first ever AG brew so maybe I should have expected a more stressful time than I originally predicted. I was going for a modified version of a Cloudwater DIPA clone. I edited the ingredients to be use standard 100g amounts of hops & the base malt to be a nice round number...

    First AG brew recipe review

Morning all, This weekend I am going to attempt my first AG brew. I would like to do a small batch of my favourite beer style, a DIPA. Could you just review my recipe below. My main concern is due to my grain bill, my sparge water is on the low side. I also made a boo boo in my order and...

    Who to purchase from?

Hello all. My first question to the forum. Myself and some friends are chipping in together for a grainfather setup. It is a fair sized order at £1500. From what I can tell Google throws 3 - 4 good online retailers. Anyone know who is good, or which to avoid. More from a prospective of...
