    My new toy!

I bought various lengths of this pipe: STAINLESS STEEL 316 SCREWED PIPE BSP 150lbs One end screws into the pump instead of the telescopic pipe, and the spray ball goes on the other end. I think I bought 500mm and 300mm lengths.

    Yeast for a Proper Job.

I brewed this with Verdant IPA yeast. For me it was better than the original. I appreciate you haven’t got this yeast to hand but worth considering for the future.

    Large (double batch) Fermentation Vessels?

I brew double batch sizes, and aim for 42L in the FV. I use a Fermenter King Snub 60L but I think you will find this too tall for your fridge. The Home Brew Shop do these which might fit? 60 ltr Plastic Fermenter with Lid and Tap I pump the wort into the FV in place in the fridge. I wouldn't...

    Cost of the boil.

Brewed 42L today, 80 min boil. Having just bought a new 13kg propane bottle I thought I would calculate the cost of the gas used on today’s brew. Refill cost £45. Gas used 1.6kg Cost of gas £5.54 Gas cost per pint, roughly 8p shame I can’t capture the gas I generate per pint consumed….
