Whats the collective thoughts on these fermenter floating devices?

I have been using the iSpindel at 10/15psi and it didn't fill up with beer. It just looked like some moisture was in there as some of the solder joints looked corroded (maybe condensation under pressure). As well as an odd mark on the plastic between the battery terminals. I'm thinking of...

Whats the collective thoughts on these fermenter floating devices?

I have been using an iSpindel for some time and find it useful but as people have said it's accuracy affected by yeast build up. But good for monitoring progress. The battery will last for a month normally (with plenty of juice left) However recently I have used it fermenting under pressure and...

    London Pubs

The Cask in Pimlico is a great pub. Lots of real ale, craft and Belgian beer. Very convenient for the Victoria coach station if your using that.

Brewing mistakes you really wish you'd avoided...

My recent disaster was forgetting to fit the bazooka filter to my all in one. Got the wort boiling before I realized so drained the wort into a bucket and fitted the bazooka. Started pouring the wort back into the all in one only to find it coming out of the tap 🙈 all over the kitchen floor...

    Fermzilla 30L All rounder ?

Hi fgoulding great list of very useful lessons learnt I have a couple of questions about dry hopping as I don't like lifting the lid to add hops to the fermzilla. What magnets (size, shape, type) do you use on the outside of the Fermzilla? Also what do you put in the hop bag to stick to the...

    Show us your guitar(s)

Here's a brewing related guitar that a mate of mine who builds these as a hobby He knew I brewed beer and often go to Moor brewery in Bristol so he built it for me. It's a 3 string cigar box style and works very well. .

    Fermzilla 30L All rounder ?

I won't be making any wheat beers just ales or IPA of about 6% so will try a 28l batch next. Hopefully 🙏 the krausen will stay lower than the gas out. If it gets too high then I'll increase the pressure with the spunding valve. I always connect the gas out of the AR to the beer out of a corny...

    Fermzilla 30L All rounder ?

Thanks for the info fgoulding so I should be ok for 28l. I don't dry hop in the fermenter as I prefer a hop stand instead. 😁.

    Fermzilla 30L All rounder ?

Just a question regarding the all rounder 30l. Anyone know the maximum amount of wort that can be fermented in it? Will it ferment the full 30l of wort? Has anyone tried doing it? I've brewed a couple of 21 litre batches under pressure but want to know what the actual limit for this kit. Ideally...

    Calling those fermenting under pressure!

Just an update on the Keg King PRV's from Brew2Bottle. I just received a Blue 10psi PRV and a 15psi PRV from them to see if they could replace the PRV fitted to the Corny kegs lid. And indeed they do as they are exactly the same size with the same thread. They screw straight into the lid of the...

    Calling those fermenting under pressure!

Don't know if these PRV's fit the corny keg yet But as they are so cheap I decided to order a couple anyway and take a chance. They look the same as the corny PRV in the pictures. So I will know the answer to the question as soon as they arrive. One question I have is how much headspace should I...

    Calling those fermenting under pressure!

Cheers SteveH that looks like a great option and a cheap way of trying pressure fermentation with the corny keg. I am assuming that these PRV's will fit the corny keg lid.

    Calling those fermenting under pressure!

I have been thinking about trying to ferment under pressure in a corny keg but just to try it out. I don't want to buy any special equipment yet just in case I don't get on with it. I have a spare pressure gauge and gas in connector. I don't have a pressure release/ spunding vale so I was...

    Fridge size help

I use the Essentials Model CUL55W19 and can fit two 19L cornies and one 9L corny at the back. For the taller 19L keg you need to remove the light fitting on the right hand side of the fridge. Hope that helps. Steve B.

    Brewzilla 35l maximum abv potential

I have the 35L Brewmonk which is, I guess, the same as the Brewzilla all-in-one. I decided to max it out just before Xmas 2020 and managed to get 8.1Kg of grain into the mash. Used the Brewfather app to determine the mash/ sparge water required. It made 19L for a Corny keg and the OG was 1.090...

    Vyair RO Filter sale

I received one of the Vyair Compact 4-Stage Reverse Osmosis 50gpd units yesterday. Set it up this morning as per the instructions enclosed in the box. Checked my water pressure which was 3 Bar, on the lower limit as recommended, and checked RO flow rate. It took 30 minutes to deliver 2 Liters of...

    Which Hydrometer/Refractometer?

Thanks for the Excel calculator private4587, I just tested it on one of my beers and it was spot on athumb... The only minor thing is you need to work in Brix , I always use OG, but minor details. Slight hack to the spreadsheet would fix it.

    Brewfather Equipment Profile

Thanks guys for your help. I just can't see where you can set the size of your brewing pot in the settings. You can set the final batch volume you want in the fermenter and a lot of other parameters. Must be missing something here as if I choose the profile for my Brewmonk then it knows the...

    Brewfather Equipment Profile

Thanks for that UKSydiver. My version of the Brewfather doesn't have that option. I'm using the free version at the moment so maybe it's a paid feature. Cheers..

    Brewfather Equipment Profile

Used the Brewfather App now for a couple of brews and all works out just fine and is pretty accurate on the calculations. I have been using a pre-defined equipment profile (Brewmonk - 30L) for my all-in-one brewing system which is in the equipment list. Now for small brews, 9L, I use a BIAB...
