First AG - Slight sour taste

I am drinking my first attempt at an AG pale ale and it has a slight sour taste to it. It has been conditioning for about 4 weeks but the taste is still there. Any ideas of what it could be? I don't think it's an infection as it isn't that strong, it's almost like it is lacking any sweetness...

    Glass full of foam

What psi do you guys normally dispense at?

    Glass full of foam

I will keep pouring then :beer1: This one is a fizzy lager so that probably doesn't help matters.

    Glass full of foam

It's 4m of 5/16. My party tap had a smaller tube than that. I might try putting that in the line and seeing if it helps.

    Glass full of foam

I finally got my beer taps setup, I was previously just using a party tap. Pour my first pint and it came out as foam. I have tried dropping the pressure right down to about 8psi but still foam. My kegs are higher than the tap, and I notice that air/foam builds up in the tube, might be air...

    Corny post problem

I do have some lubricant, I will try lubing it up again. It's the amount of force I have to apply to get it low enough for the latch to hold that worries me. My other kegs are fine, this one just seems to be giving me problems.

    Corny post problem

An update on this, I received all my new parts. I first tried changing the out post to my new "universal" out post. The new post is a smaller spanner size but thread seemed the same so I swapped them. Now I made a big mistake here, this keg is full, I thought depressurising it would make the...

    Corny post problem

Can never seem to find replacement o ring for the poppet, even the o ring kits don't have them. Any idea what size they are?

    Corny post problem

I have ordered a few replacement o rings etc. from China as I don't really have any spares and I am up to 3 kegs now. I hate the waiting...

    Corny post problem

Could be, cant take apart my others to compare as they have beer in. I have ordered some new posts anyway so hopefully that solves it. Not as happy with this keg as the last one I got. Buying used kegs seems to be a mixed bag.

    Corny post problem

Hi, I have a problem with the beer out post on my corny keg. I have only just got it, it is a used one do I took it all apart and cleaned. On reassembly I noticed that the inside value part of the beer out post is protruding out of top of the post. Also putting the disconnect on is very hard...

    Disheartening return to homebrew

I use starsan to sterilise and force carbonate. Have you had problems with campden tablets? What problems did it cause? I think BIAB sounds like the next step, I did wonder about sparging with robobrew setups. @Chippy_Tea thanks for the link I will take a look. I did see the peco boiler...

    Disheartening return to homebrew

Thanks for the replies, some more things for me to try. I checked the inside of the kegs, took apart and gave a good clean before use. I assume oxidisation in a keg would be rust? I used to bottle, but it just takes so long. I also have a couple of bottles from the same batch as the keg and...

    Disheartening return to homebrew

I was going to do a couple more kits and see how that goes. I find the hardest thing with kits is the waiting.. and hoping it will come good. I find it worse being in a keg as I keep sampling to see if it had improved. Yeah the Young's kits seem good, a taste after a week was not bad so...

    Disheartening return to homebrew

I have returned to home-brewing after a few years break. I used to live in a flat so didn't have the space for a brew fridge or AG. Looking at my notes I brewed around 20 kits and a few extract brews. I ultimately stopped because most of what I brewed tasted pretty bad, with the odd success here...

    American IPA

I just kegged my APA today. I wasn't massively impressed by the taste in the trial jar too, but I know not to read too much into that. Reminded my of a festival stag I did that never tasted right sick... Trying to get a bit of a production going as I have a habit of drinking brews too early...

    Fermenting fridge - drilling

Thanks, looks like I can get it through the drain hole if I expand it a bit. Was hoping to get the thermometer probe in as well.

    Fermenting fridge - drilling

I have started making my fermenting fridge, built a little platform to sit in the bottom to level out the hump at the back. Bought a 40w Dimplex tube heater, problem is the cable is quite thick and the door doesn't shut properly with the cable coming out round the door. I am currently mulling...

Woodfordes Wherry Kit straight to Corny Keg from FV ?

Yes, turned the temp up for a few days then put the FV into the shed for a few more days for it to settle. The yeast cake seems pretty solid with the Wherry. Then it went straight into the keg. Don't have a spare fridge at the moment so I have to make do with the shed which has been a bit warmer...
