What should I Drink Beer Out Of?

    1st time pizza making

I always put a fair quantity of powdered fennel seeds into my ragu... it turns it into an amazingly powerful and flavoursome sauce which gives any spicey sausage toppings something extra. Don't know if I would go back to pizzeria takeaways now.

    Decided To Give Up homebrewing

    That's an excellent idea.

    Dad...RIP

Many condolences. I couldn't even contemplate what it would be like to go through losing one of my parents so my heart goes out to you. :hat:

    Decided To Give Up homebrewing

Good for you. Your family is the only important thing. Beer is just a liquid which makes you think that it is the solution, but it's really not. As others have said, I'll be happy if I have your courage when facing such difficulties. :hat:

    Medicinal beer

I thought you grew out of that when you stopped being a teenager... last time I kept drinking a secret from anyone was when I was getting ****** on a bottle of cider in the fields behind my parents' house!

    Naming your brewery/winery etc?

I thought I had replied to this ages ago but obviously not.... The House of Badger came about when my first wine kit was brewing (Beaverdale Shiraz). My girlfriend walked into the house and announced "it smells like a badger's **** in here". I'm not sure how she knows what a badger's ****...

something similar to a black tower?

Go for something German in style, riesling, gewurztraminer, or moselstein. http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00A9SL8GI/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 http://www.brew2bottle.co.uk/beaverdale-gewurztraminer-6-bottle.html?gclid=CJ7b7sef1bwCFQkEwwodGUwAdg...

    Water or milk first

And I answered your question (which I notice you left out of your quote). I also joined in a discussion which was loosely based on your original question which had already started. A forum is a place for conversation, not just answering questions. If another conversation starts up on the back...

    Valentine's Day

I did make up a Valentine's rhyme for her though, which went down well. it goes... Roses are red Violets are blue Rhyming is hard Take your clothes off. I thank you. :hat:

    Water or milk first

I second that. Nescafe is the Blue Nun of the coffee world. Perfectly acceptable when you didn't know any better, but once the whole world of coffee is opened up to you, why would you ever go back? In answer to your original question, if you stir the coffee as you pour the water in, or pour the...

    Valentine's Day

Anyone have to do the prescribed romance thing today to keep your significant other happy? luckily my missus doesn't fall for all the marketing nonsense and as a result, Valentine's is a non event in our house. I do make a donation to charity every year in her name in respect of the amount I...

    Wine kit choice help please

The best white wine I have ever made was Kenridge Founder's Series Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. I served it at a barbecue for my family and everyone was drinking it all day without realising it was homebrew! It's about £75 for 30 bottles but thats still only £2.50 a bottle. I would put it on a...
