Get er brewed - half price crisp malts

Cheers for the heads up, took the opportunity to try a couple of new base malts - their organic extra pale and Plumage archer.

    Records

I've probably got around 500 albums, I get a lot of pleasure going through them especially when I have friends round. As said previously they're getting harder to find in charity shops and car boots where I used to pick up loads. Sometimes I go to record fairs and if I find something I really...

    What are you drinking 2024.

Moteuka and Meridian pale I kegged 3 months ago, not sure how it lasted this long - not like me ! Not brewed for a while and supplies are running low so a trip to my LHBS is on the cards this weekend

    Old Boots pressure barrels

The replacements caps I got were also from Ballihoo and fitted fine, I was also worried the thread wouldn't be an exact fit.

    What are you drinking 2024.

Just cut the grass and this is a great lawnmower beer. I normally get the off menu IPA but this is another fine pale ale, light crisp zesty bitterness with citrus aroma.

    Old Boots pressure barrels

I've got a couple date stamped 1992 which I was still using until I started kegging. I think they must be better quality than the new ones as mine were in storage for around 25 years before I dusted them off when I started brewing again sometime after first lockdown and worked fine with no...

    Failed US-05 yeast

Was it in date ? I only ask as my LHBS has US-05 use by end of this month on clearance at the moment, as does Brew2bottle.

    What are you drinking 2024.

My first go at a Belgian single kegged a couple of weeks ago, fermented with Abbaye yeast. Extra pale Maris Otter with some Vienna, Tettnang to bitter with Styrian Goldings late boil and hopstand. Still a little hazey but nice biscuity malt and spicey fruitiness from the yeast.

    What are you drinking 2024.

Thanks ! It's a variation on a tried and trusted recipe, I think Verdant works really well in this style.

    What are you drinking 2024.

English IPA bittered with Admiral, later additions of Challenger and Goldings which I kegged a couple of months ago. A little hazey which I put down to forgetting to cold crash and the Verdant yeast. An enjoyable sup nevertheless with an orangey bitterness from the admiral.

Greg Hughes Rosemary and Vanilla IPA

You could try putting the recipe into brewfather, you can adjust the grain bill and hop additions/AA values to get the required ABV, IBU's and EBC etc. Also lots of other interesting information and you can vary batch size. 8.2 kg seems way over, I usually make 19L using around 5kg for similar...

    What are you drinking 2024.

After 3 months this Pilsener is in about perfect nick and of course keg is about to kick. I fermented this with Novalager cold and initially I thought it was a bit meh but has definitely improved with time. Pilsener, Vienna and Munich malt with Northern brewer to bitter and Saaz later in boil...
