Lack of will power alert, supposed to have another 20 days conditioning. It nice so hey ho. Best bitter I’ve made, but as I’ve done only 2 or 3 before probably not difficult to achieve.

    Dead smack pack ?

Good news Brewfather gives a finished gravity of 1.013 and it’s currently at that and I can’t see anymore activity. That’s 1.050 to 1.013 in 9 days, did a saison and it went from 1,050 to 1.010 in 24 hrs!

I don’t think we get as good Aussie wines as we used to, or perhaps they are more expensive. After spending 3 days trying as many vineyards as we could in th Hunter Valley ( of which Blueberry Hill was my favourite) I get the impression it’s a bit like Italian wines they keep the best for...

We buy nearly all our meat from the butchers now.. Occasionally buy bacon from the supermarket to put in freezer for when you've a an urge for a bacon butty. Same with Veg; try and get it all from the Market or Farm shop (though they seem expensive these days) as it's not all packaged in sweaty...

Against my better judgement I decided to use my starter instead of the dried yeast as it had bubbled away quite aggressively Friday Night & Saturday. I was regretting that decision as after over 48hrs there was no activity.. But it is now bubbling away this morning... Phew.

    After dry January...

I did it October once and like you at first found it really difficult, especially giving up a Gin n Tonic, had to find 0% ones (just not the same). But come November had to have a beer, perhaps it’s the dark nights but I didn’t not want a beer afterwards.
