    Hi all. I've always bottled my beer in the past, but have decided to keg it instead. I've got a bog standard pressure barrel with a s30 cap. My question is, I've but the beer in the barrel with 100g of sugar to condition it. Do I need to inject one of those little co2 bulbs straight away or...

    Fiery Ginger Beer

    Found 4 bottles of last years brew at the back of the shed last weekend. Popped one in the fridge and gave it a try. Absolutely amazing. Crystal clear, sweet, fiery and very tasty. I'll be doing much more of this and laying it away :cheers:

    My Wilko Hoppy Copper Bitter experiment.

    I'll be bottling my 4th experiment with this one tomorrow. Just the one tin, brewed short to 20l, with the required kilo of sugar. But I've added 500g of dark muscovado sugar and a tin of black treacle. O.G was 1.046 now down to 1.008. The taste from the trial jar is promising :cheers:

    What do you use for sterizling your eqipment and bottles?

    I get em in my local Quality Save shop. Never had an infection. They're fine but your stuff needs to soak for 30 mins and must be rinsed. For bottles just one fill and empty with clean cold water is fine :cheers:

    Quality Save sterilising tabs. 64 tabs for 99p. 1 tab per 4 litres of cold water. It actually has dosing instructions on the pack for home brewing. Rinse well though :cheers:

    Has it gone too far???

    Well, as promised I'm reporting back. The brew has been in bottles now for 3 weeks and after chilling its actually pretty good. Nice and clear with a decent head and very drinkable. I'm very surprised and a little puzzled, but happy all the same :-)
