    wine from frozen fruit

    additional flavors in cider

    We put in two litres of strawberry ribena to 25 litres of fresh pressed apple juice (we have our own apple trees and home made press) and we had a definite strawberry flavour which made a nice change. For that batch we used YLP 775 yeast. Some of our ciders have come out at 8% and a little...

    using frozen fruits

    We bought some farmfoods frozen rhubarb last year to top up our own rhubarb. We always freeze our fruit before using now, we have just this week done our bramble (blackberry) wine it is currently bubbling in fermenting bucket. It saves the mad rush in the autumn and produces superb wine.

    additional flavors in cider

    We boiled up some strawberry ribena for 30mins then poured it in the fresh pressed apple juice then stirred it up and put in the yeast. It was really nice. We currently have a ginger batch just bottled but not tried yet and also one with oak chippings soon to be racked.

    Wurzel’s Orange

    We tried the cranberry juice drink with red grape juice and it was really nice and very potent but we did notice it didn't clear as well as the pure fruit juice. We also tried red grape and prune which again was very drinkable. Our favourite (after the hallowed Wurzels Original) is Red or was...

    Maybe too cold, we have sometimes stood ours near the fire to help fermentation. What is the temperature in your room you brew/ferment in.
