    Fiery Ginger Beer

Mine has carved up perfectly judging by the firmness of the bottles, moved them to the cold a couple of days ago to clear some more... Might not be able to resist having a taste tonight...

    Fiery Ginger Beer

I used 1L bottles and 10g (2xtsp) per bottle... (it's my usual, 1xtsp per 500ml) I've tasted and it's still a little thin even with the glycerine so i added a glug or so of Riddles Extra Hot Ginger Compound but i didn't like the colour it gave it so i'll avoid doing that in future i think...

    Fiery Ginger Beer

That's interesting, my ginger beer last year carbed brilliantly but my raspberryade etc made from the random polish juices failed miserably. I've got 1 gallon of GB almost ready to bottle using pretty much the original recipe with the addition of some frozen ginger (Asian frozen section @tesco...

    Bulldog, Hammer of Thor

ha ha, I started the 'dog at the end of April and it still has some way to go if you ask me... think you've convinced me on the Raja, sounds like it might be my cup of tea (so to speak), something hoppy as hell but less alcohol bite. thanks!

    Bulldog, Hammer of Thor

Hi Acathla, jus wondering how you thought the Rajah's Revenge stacked up against Evil Dog? I'm still finishing my Evil Dog and while i've had a lot of compliments i'm not enjoying it that much. Not dry enough (got a 'twang' to it if you see what i mean), a little on the strong side (weird...

    Bulldog, Evil Dog Double IPA

traffhome - That's really interesting, I take it it doesn't drop so much yeast out that it won't carb in bottles or do you force carb? have to say it cleared in only a couple of days anyway!

    Raspberryade

Has anyone else seen the blueberry / rhubarb cordials for sale at Ikea? picked up a couple of both and am thinking to do the same with those. doesn't seem like they contain any preservatives but i'll need to check sugar content i guess?

    Bulldog, Evil Dog Double IPA

hey Neddy, you've just described my exact set up and i'm sorry to say yes, the lid got blown off my Youngs FV. i bottled today and i dont think i got an infection but i'd be prepared to clean up a bit if i were you.... heers, mike. I also found that adding hops as per instructions didn't add...

    Bulldog, Evil Dog Double IPA

hey guys, looks like my primary fermentation has finally finished so i'm ready to dry hop and keg / bottle. does anyone have any advice on how long i should leave the hops in for maximum aroma? I'm trying to work out if 12 / 24 / 36 hours would be best! thanks!

    Bulldog, Evil Dog Double IPA

Ok, thanks James, it's the first time that's happened to me so I just cleaned up everything I could from the lip, side and underneath the FV with a bleachey j cloth. hopefully that will keep the contents safe. otherwise smelling good on day 5...

    Bulldog, Evil Dog Double IPA

A word of warning, mines gone off like a rocket and has been my first beer volcano. Clean up's not been too bad but slightly worried about infection now... I'd advise using the biggest FV you have...

How many gallons of homebrewed beer in 2014?

    Show us your brewery

I'm also feeling jealous but here's mine, kits and *cough* higher alcohol washes only for me. my wife bought me a day a London FIelds Brewery for Christmas and that's the only AG brew i've done... and this is my current cellar...

    Bulldog, Evil Dog Double IPA

I've just started mine, have brewed ever so slighly long and i've ended up with an og of 1.061, seems a lot weaker than others have been reporting but (and i'm no expert) i think it should still come out about 7% abv? the wort smelled good but not as hoppy as i was expecting, i guess that's why...

    Raspberryade

hey guys, Has anyone had problems with the secondary fermentation of this? I've followed the recipe pretty closely, used a youngs super yeast and then a spoon of nutrient and it ferments out great but when i bottle (2 spoons of caster in 1L Tonic bottles) i'm getting very little carbonation...

    Secondary Cider firmentation failed?

    Secondary Cider firmentation failed?

Yes, they've all firmed up to some extent, some more than others though. The temp has been up and down unfortunately, they've all just been int he spare room (coolest i've got at the moment) except the test one i put in the fridge... It hasn't been anywhere near 8 weeks though so perhaps i'm...

    Secondary Cider firmentation failed?

hi guys, I'm back with another silly question i'm afraid! I've just done another Cider kit (wilkos own brand for the first time) and i think the secondary ferment's failed. I started it as the same time as a Cerveza but (as i've seen before) it was still fermenting long after the beer was...
