    After almost 3 years... it is time!

    Been absent for many reason over the last 2 years. new house, big changes etc... All settled now however - and worked up a thirst. Time to re-ignite my love of brewing - time to brew up!:thumb: oh how ive missed HBF.

    Just tried this after 5 weeks in bottles. Have kept these in the kitchen cupboard through the recent heat wave. put one in the fridge this morning and cracked it just now. Pours with a thick head. Good amount of fizz. nice hints of coffee and caramel. Another cracker from brewferm :clap:

    if you like the leffe style - try the milestone crusader. These are fantastic after 4-5 weeks.

    So its been about 5 weeks since these have been bottled. Opened a few in the last few days and i can honestly say..... what a great brew. They have cleared nicely - any leffe fans or general lover belgian blonde style beers will love these. I will be ordering another one of these kits asap so...

    Bottled this on thursday (4/07). I wanted to aim for lager fizz so did 1tsp granulated sugar for 300-350ml bottles and 2tsp for 500ml. In hindsight, might have over done it...? :wha:

    I did a brewferm oranje bock. bottled last week. i did 1 tsp for 350ml bottles and 2 for 500-550ml bottles. I was going for fizz tastic.

    You might like the brewferm oranje bock. Mine has been bottled a few days ago. Not quite a stout, but you might like it is a variation. Test jar sample revealed a very chocolate, toffee, coffee taste. Will leave it a good few weeks before event thinking about touching it. Luckily i'm away on...

    Same as everyone above, no issues with it. When you crack a beer open later on, look on the inside of the cap. It's not even noticeable.

    You'll be fine. I'm doing the brewferm oranje bock at the moment. Will transfer it into the coopers fv i got with a kit. Only because i will use the tap to bottle with. My primary doesnt have a tap and i cant be arsed to **** around with a syphon. :doh: The coopers fv lid is such a close fit...

    Nope. I only had muntons brew enhancer when i decided to start this. Next up will be either the abdij or wilkos golden stag. So if the abdij, will likely use medium DME. Although may dash a smidgeon of golden syrup in. Not sure just yet. Looking at the brewferm range at the moment for something...

    11 days in - just took a reading 1.015 Looks dark and chocolatey. Taste from test jar, syrupy chocolate coffee. Yum. Will eave another few days before syphoning off into secondary fv. May bottle end of week after total 15 days. Reading dependant of course :thumb: Here are some pics.

    Your setup looks good in the pic! How does the cooling work there? Is it natural temp drop or is it aided? I noticed the stc1000 type gadget in the corner.
