    Bulldog Evil Dog Instructions

I used 130g for the four finger jack kit and its just about right... these are american ales so better to be well carb'd than under!

    Youngs American IPA

It's been in the bottle for just over 5 weeks now, had samples at 3 weeks and 4 weeks and it was still cloudy... a lot of yeast sediment in the bottle as it was a big bag with the kit (25g!) Initially its quite fruity, grapefruit and citrusy notes and very, very smooth... lacks the bitterness...

    Youngs American IPA

http://www.the-home-brew-shop.co.uk/acatalog/American-Beers-Beer-Kits.html Looks like there is at least 3 of these new kits to try... I've just made bulldogs 4 finger jack so will wait a bit before doing youngs APA... may try the amber ale kit! Will watch this thread carefully for end...

    Kit + Grain Brewing

Had a wee look on the coopers website for some inspiration for my next two brews. Having done 3 kits now from a basic coopers lager, bulldogs four finger jack and coopers IPA with 2 hops additions for bitterness/aroma purposes and us-05 yeast... i'm keen to branch out a bit more and seen this...

    Krausen not falling

I just used US-05 and it took 15 days to drop out fully @ 17c... leaving it for longer will do no harm, infact... it will do it the world of good cleaning up the beer!

    Coopers IPA review

This is brew #3 in my journey of home brewing, fired this kit up yesterday. 1x Coopers IPA Can 1x Coopers Light Liquid Malt Extract 500g Unrefined golden caster sugar I used US-05 yeast and rehydrated it before use, pitched at 21C and then put it in the water bath to remain at a constant 18C...

Bulldog Four finger Jack American Pale ale.

That is hydrometer that came with the coopers starter kit, served me well so far. The trial jar however that came with the kit warped into plastic spaghetti in warm water when I cleaned it first time round so had to replace it with a more sturdy option!

Bulldog Four finger Jack American Pale ale.

First hydrometer after 17 days in the FV and the krausen only fully dropped out yesterday. OG was 1051 and its now down to 1005, thats some slow, long, effective working yeast! It was fermented at a constant 21C in a water bath... time this is bottled I will be looking at a 6.7% APA! A wee...

    US-05 flocculation, what to expect.

Once my four finger jack is bottled I'm starting a coopers IPA with liquid malt extract and us-05 yeast for the first time so this thread has some great heads up info! Sounds like its going to be more temperamental than my last kits and may need more care to clear. In future I will definitely...

Will it be narrated by David Attenborough? If so... I'm in!

    US-05 Rehydration & Reclaimation

I've got my water bath and electrim immersion heater at 21C with the four finger jack kit on just now, and it's been constantly at that temp so will turn it down a notch or two for this next kit. Want to get a full bodied IPA with big hops aroma and flavour, so may use the chinook for...

Bulldog Four finger Jack American Pale ale.

This is my second ever kit, started it on the 02/02/2014. After realising that I failed to properly stir/mix/aerate my first kit, I went through this one like a man possessed. SG was 1051, which is a bit higher than the stated SG of 1046... I wonder if it was down to the thorough mixing as it...

    US-05 Rehydration & Reclaimation

That is a solid rehydration guide right there, will follow this to the letter when its time to pitch! Thanks! :thumb: Reclaiming anyone? And is it possible to reclaim if you use finings or gelatin?

    secondary fv + carbonation temps

Priming calculator saved to my favourites, very handy! I'm getting used to all this cleaning and sanitising now, i'm a pedant when it comes to things like this anyway! I will rack to the secondary and then back into the primary for priming and bottling, makes sense anyway as thats the Coopers...

    Finings & Clearing beers

Hey guys, I've got a Bulldog kit on just now and its been 8 days in the FV and still has a large foamy krausen on top... looks like the yeast may take the two weeks plus on this one to work through. If its ferments out and is still as cloudy is it recommended to add finings or perhaps gelatin...

    US-05 Rehydration & Reclaimation

For my next and 3rd brew I will be using this for a coopers IPA kit and liquid malt extract with most likely Chinook & Nelson Sauvin hops. I've read up a few pages on this yeast and it appears to be quite a challenge compared to the usual ale yeast that comes with kits so i'm looking for a bit...

    Williams Bros.

They just launched a new red ale last week too, at 6.3%... still to try it though but sounds amazing! http://www.williamsbrosbrew.com/brother ... digm-shift

    Williams Bros.

In my opinion these guys are Scotlands finest brewers just now... as much as I love the wickedly hoppy punk IPA from Brew Dog, the range that Williams Bros offers is a much stronger line up. I'm a big IPA & Hop head so I strongly recommend Joker IPA and Caesar Augustus... which is a lager/ipa...

    secondary fv + carbonation temps

Thanks for the replys guys! I'm now at the stage where I need to transfer from my primary FV to my secondary. Q1: Both FV have taps on them but i've just realised I have no syphoning tube or system. Would you recommend getting tubing to fit over the Coopers FV Tap or a stand alone telescopic...

    Post Your Brew 2014

This was my first ever home brew and im quite chuffed with it now... Coopers Lager as I got the starter kit for Christmas. Must admit its took a good 3-4 weeks in the bottle to become really smooth and drinkable but for just using one can and brew enhancer #1 its turned out alright! Now, time...
