Hi All,
After brewing my first all grain batch with the 30L brew monk my beer is now ready for bottling.
I have done a basic bitter brew with Ekg as the late addition hops. Grainfather predicted an OG of 1046 but mine turned out at 1040, the FG now is around 1010 which was predicted by the brew software.
Beer smells great but the taste has an almost dry musty twang to it. Very apparent on the first taste then goes away after two or three sips. Yeast was s-04. Also the beer seems a bit thin. I did hit the final volume of 15l in the FV.
Any obvious reason for this musty taste? Would it be related to the sparge? Beer does not look or taste infected. Not oxidised as it has not moved since I pitched the yeast.
Thanks.
