Last night I treated the water and set up a mash at 67C. Very simple grain bill, being one 5kg bag of Marris Otter for a standard 23l brewlength.

By this morning the temp had dropped to 54 so that a pretty good result methinks. :thumb:

I'm busy sparging now with 50g of Green Bullet as FWH - first mistake! forget to recirc! Oh well.

I have a suspicion that Thornbridge use it in White Swan also. That was actually the inspiration for a GB Smash.

Anyway, all safely in the FV. Slightly overshot the volume so will likely have issues with beer trying to decamp across the dining room floor again! :nah:

T58 yeast by the way.

I'll upload pics this evening.

Boiling outside, bit of snow about!

My elements afterwards. They're not looking too good. Some copper showing through!

One of the things I love about T58 is how well behaved it is. Despite having only 12.3mm of headspace in the fv, absolutely no decamp. It just gets on with the job quietly and effectively in the corner.
