Just done my fourth biab and had my first attempt at a lager.
Followed the recipe for the European lager in Greg Hughes book and put it through the bibacus to down size it from 23 ltrs to 20 ltrs for a cornie.
All the figures calculated were spot on until the final volume after boil which was 28 ltrs instead of 25.5 ltrs.
My final og was 1.041 instead of the predicted 1.045 with an extra 2ltrs in the fv.
Am I right in thinking this was down to not boiling hard enough to reduce the liquor.
If so what difference will it make to the final product considering everything was scaled for a 20ltr volume into the fv with an abv of 4.4%
Will my lager taste watery?
