I'm looking at moving on from kits onto 1 gallon boil in the bag all grain. I've no experience of designing recipes but after looking up a few things about IBU's and what not I decided to give it a shot. The concept is an APA made with English malts, hops and yeast.

Is this any good or have I made a hash of it?

looks good but a 45 min addition isnt widely used, it doesnt deliver much whereas a 60 will give bitterness, a 30 flavour.

how are you cooling? 0 min hops need to stay in during cooling - if you are cooling in the fv, then pour the wort onto the 0 min hops in a muslin bag and take the bag oit after 20 mins

goos luck!

Thanks for the reply :) Would I bump up the hops in the 60 minute addition and omit the 45 minute? Since it's only a small batch I was just going to stick the boil pot in the kitchen sink in cold water. Would that work?

up to you, i would rarher plonk it in at 10 mins myself. yep, cool water in the sink is fine. bath may be better because the water around it will warm up as it cools - the more the better. but yep, very easy, i do basically the same thing with 4 gallon batches :)
