Nightmare Lager, well that's all I could call it.

All started well last night, boiling water and adding a campden tablet :thumb:

Up this morning for the brew, my brother in law would join me after sampling my first brew yesterday

Water heating again added the grain & dme, made temperature, heated 'til boiling added first hops

WHAM we have a power cut !!!!!!!

So what did we do. We wrapped the boiler in a blanket and put the lid on. I managed to get a 2.6 kw generator but it was 1 hour later. The temperature had dropped to 85'C I kept the lid on and brought back to the boil. This took some time as we could only run one element. as soon as we reached boiling I took the lid off. Boiled for 60 mins, added my heat exchanger after further 15 added final hops and sugar

Cooled quickly to 20'c, pitched yeast, Bobs your uncle. Finally got everything clean and the power came back on!

What do you think? :wha: :?: saved  or killed?

Don't worry westwinds it'll be fine :thumb:
I have had a plastic boiler split on me during a boil, which was fun
I had to quickly transfer to another vessel, go out buy another suitable boiler vessel, cut tap and element holes, fit them and then get back up to boil.
The brew turned out fine and so will yours
Good work on the rescue, that's total beer brewing dedication
