Afternoon all. I have a Brewferm Triple kit that I hqvent started yet and was just looking over the instructions. It says a second fermentation in a different container is recommended before bottling. Is this essential and what will happen if I go straight to bottling?

Not essential in my opinion but you will run the risk of getting sediment in your bottles. How do you plan bottling... do you have a tap on your FV? If so, you may well get more than just beer coming out.

Ideally, you'd rack to a 2nd FV to reduce this risk and let the beer clear further before bottling. Some say you need to get it off the trub as soon as it's finished fermenting though I've never had issues with this and don't believe there is any great urgency to do so.

p.s. I have a Brewferm Triple fermenting under the stairs at the mo.
