Silly bottling question.....

Hi

I have some cherry wine that has been bulk ageing for a while, and I am thinking about bottling it. I have been collecting screw top bottles, as well as ones with corks. If I bottle it in the screw tops, is it simply a case of sterilising the bottles, filling the bottles and then re-using the old screw tops?

I have spent lots recently on my beer brewing kit and can't justify buying corks and a corker so am looking for a cheap/free way to get it into the bottles!
My dad keeps telling me to drink it out of the DJ!

Screw top bottles are fine if the wine is stable. Make sure the caps are as tight and clean as possible.

I prefer using screw cap bottles over the cork ones. So much easier and quicker.

I did exactly that with some mead Rolfster, my dad also asks "what is the point? - you might as well just guzzle it straight from the DJ anyway!" :lol:
