Does anyone make sparkling wines? If so how is it done, is it just a case of bottling in strong bottles with tie down corks and priming as if with beer or cider?

I dont make them, but its a bit more complicated than case of bottling in strong bottles with tie down corks and priming as if with beer or cider?

You need to use bottles designed to handle pressure! and bottle and prime, after the wine as carbonated you will need to store the bottle top down for a week or so, freeze the neck of the bottle and remove the sediement! put a new cork in and wire it down! let it defrost, If you dont do this when you open the wine you will end up with a cloudy wine with yeast sediment in!
