Is household bleach safe to use in sterilizing our equipment. It’s claimed that bleach kills all known germs.

I use cheap thin no fragrance bleach, firstly fill the fermenter with 20l water and 50ml bleach and leave for half an hour or so, then empty that bleach into a big bucket and dunk the bottles, syphon etc in there for another half an hour or so. Rinse with lots of water, I fill and empty my FV with cold water at least 4 times.
