Ok so the guardian have their seasonal top 10 summer ales list out. No Jaipur has already upset me, but is your favourite in there?

The only advice I will give you is that lager is normally carbed more than ale. It will be terrible if under carbed I think those pet bottles can take the pressure. Think how fizzy coke is. There nothing stopping you putting in 1.5 or just use table sugar then you have more freedom . I've never...
+1 for the gentle stir, has got me out of a few scrapes. I've also transferred to a secondary and that helped get me a few more points down. Assume your temps are appropriate? Lower temps can slow or even stop fermentation.
Had me in stitches reading this. Hope you managed to save enough of the beer. Theres something about the coopers stout, of all the kits I've done it was the most krausen ive ever seen
Thanks for the advice. Just weighed the challenger and I have 30g at 8.78. Plan to put this at 90 mins. Using a calc I have got my 70ibu using the citra and cascade at 30, 15, and 5 mins. Is this going to be a goer or I should I just wait till next week and pick up more challenger. It also just...
Postponed this brew until tomorrow. I don't have any magnum. I have lots citra cascade ekg and Styrian goldings. And about 20g of challenger left
Would Any combination of the above be better than my original plan? Thanks
So I'm brewing on Saturday and have come up with the following (p.s hoppy is good). If anybody could have a quick look and give any advice as I've never tried brewing without copying a recipe from a book:electric:
cheers
Brewlength (aiming for 21-22 L into fermenter
Grain bill
MO 4.2kg...
+1 for the bottling tree and squirter thing and starsan. I also used a "required rinse" steriliser and then washed with boiled water, took bloody ages, now its very quick.

Well it is the dark side! no its not a stout (wrong time of year for me) its slightly dark ale (with a little roasted barley) it looks a lot lighter now its has fermented and settled out!
So after 6 reasonably successful brews with kits I felt it was time to go to the dark side. Having read the books, and read them again and read every post I could find I finally decided on my recipe and headed to the LHBS.
Due to space (and time)constraints Im starting off with the BIAB (brew...
So I've had this Cornish ale in the fv for a week. Today I noticed the insides of the fv were opaque and seemed to be cloudy. Not seen this before so has anybody else. Took a peek inside and it looks and smells fine. Any thoughts?
I have it in a water tub so it's the layer above the water...
So 3 days after putting this into a secondary its dropped ........
1 point
So at 1015 I bottled it... And bottled it.
I'm hoping it was just the unfermentables in the be1.
Makes a cerveza at 3.8 ish. Which is not bad for a bbq lager. Would use a different brew enhancer next time.
