Where do you get your ingredients from?

BrewUK mainly, I collect as i'm in Salisbury quite often. I've tried to order from Malt Miller, but his website/payment screen was difficult and my order did not go through. I mainly get my hops in bulk from Simply Hops and the local brewery is very good in allowing me to piggyback on their...

Citra hops-First time I've used them.

Your probably better off using warm 30c water rather than wort, as the sugar content can kill the yeast by getting through the cell wall whilst the yeast is re hydrating - according to some doctor bod who works for danstar or one of the other dried yeast companies. Or course, what works for you...

No experience of KK, but I have 2 budget kegs and some cornies. Save up and buy cornies, if you look after them they will serve you fizzy beverages for years.

    Removing foam - should I ?

I call it the hot break, dunno if it is or not. It is protein type stuff anyway, on lagers i'll skim the foam and the brown bits, don't bother too much for ales. Bit of trub puts hairs on your chest!

Time to build a fermentation fridge.

I collected my fridge that I got via Freecycle this afternoon, considering the price ( £0 ) it's better than the one currently in my kitchen! Hotpoint "ice diamond" which is nice as it compliments the hotpoint freezer I also acquired via freecycle and is now a Keezer. As Muddy has done I'll...
