I went to the trouble of marking out my sight glass with a dremel a while back and after being really pleased with how it turned out left it on the side for a while and came back only to knock it to the floor smashing it into pieces. I've been struggling to find a replacement so thought...

    Safe infection?

Anyone know exactly what this is? I was about to ditch it but I remembered some people consider some infections fine if they aren't affecting the taste. It still smells alright... not tasted it yet though. Maybe it's the same kinda mould you get on some cheeses?

    Grain in first when mashing

Has anyone here tried adding the water into the grain in the mash tun as oppose to stirring in the grain to the strike water? Does it work well or does it create dry clumps? I want to switch to this method so I don't get the barley dust on me as I have eczema and my hands get really irritated...
