    4.2kg MO 0.2 Crystal 0.2 Toriffied wheat Mash 90 mins 34g Target 10% AA 90 min 8 St Golding 2.7% 15 min 5 Fruggles 0 min Mashed in at 10.10am, ambient temp 4.7C, HL taken up to 75C, Mash temp 65.3C without adding cold water.

    Fishing not brewing

    Went out from Sunderland today after a fish or two. Excellent day with my son. Calm sea, bright skies and a cold wind. Didn't touch a thing. When back up river and there was the Stadium of Light. I tink this is supposed to be Roy Keane's epitaph.

    Half An Ionian Ale

    Was going to do Castle Eden Ale but not enough torrified wheat. I settled for M O's Ionian Ale without additions. Mashed indoors and sparged in the garage, 4C ambient, ended up with 32L pre boil wort which I shall boil up tomorrow.

    Invert Sugar Substitute

    The Marc Ollosson recipe for Castle Eden Ale gives 835g of invert sugar added after 60 mins. Can this be substituted with an equal amount of glucose :?: I'm thinking of doing this one over the weekend.

    Craftbrewer hops

    Just got a delivery from Craftbrewer one week from ordering. All the nice hops Saaz B. Pacific Gem etc etc. His website is off line occasionally but the service was great.

    Self deleting Promash

    Promash is on both the laptop and PC. The laptop is fine but the PC keeps deleting PM taking away the content and leaving an empty file. Does anyone else have this problem :?:

    Pilsner Malt Supplier

    I've used small 3Kg packs of German pilsner malt for the two lagers I've done but think a 25Kg sack might be better value in the long run. Is there a UK supplier doing this :?: I've seen UK lager malt offered in 25Kg but not pilsner.

    Whilst putting a few of Marc Ollosson's recipes onto Promash I've noticed a difference in the MO bittering units and those given by PM. for instance Castle Eden Bitter MO gives 23 bittering units and PM 44.3 total IBUs.     Plastic Fermenters

    I bought a 30l plastic fermenter recently and used it for my last brew. It had a pre drilled hole with a rubber electrical gromit fitted to take the airlock. It leaked through the airlock gland even when it was taped up. I've redrilled it to take the normal rubber bung. I wouldn't buy another...

    I don't know if anyone else is experiencing error messages from the server when trying to post or access the site :?: It's been happening regularly over the last couple of days Is it just me or more widespread :?: I'm copying everything I post as I lose the content when this happens.
