I bought a 30l plastic fermenter recently and used it for my last brew. It had a pre drilled hole with a rubber electrical gromit fitted to take the airlock. It leaked through the airlock gland even when it was taped up. I've redrilled it to take the normal rubber bung. I wouldn't buy another expecting it to seal up.

Pleased I got that off my chest :)

Well said, I get the 33L placcy FV's and drill a hole for the tap - it's the future :D

One of my plastic fermenters leaks somewhere, but I'm not sure where. I never get a bubble through the airlock despite the lid being firmly down :hmm:

i hate those nearly clear fermenter buckets with the measure lines stuck on. i've got two and both leak through the airlock no matter what i try.

Young's fermenters FTW as far as i'm concerned (and the marks tend to be quite accurate too ;))
