    Citra hops?

Is there some kind of shortage going on? I can't seem to find them for sale anywhere!! I made a lovely pale ale with them a few months ago, and would love to recreate it......anyone know where I could find some?

    New Zealand Cascade recipe?

Howdy folks. I'm gonna brew a pale ale tomorrow using New Zealand Cascade hops, just wondering if anyone has used these before and does this recipe look ok? 3kg Golden Promise Malt 1kg Rye Malt 500g Pale Wheat Malt 15g NZ Cascade (60mins) 20g NZ Cascade (15mins) 65g NZ Cascade (0mins) Safale...

Recommendations for summer fruit cider kits or adapting kits

My mrs has always been a fan of fruit tea wine, raspberryade and vimto wine

    Raspberryade gravity stopped

I've had the same problem with these cordials. I'd suggest putting some potassium sorbate or something in there before bottling, as there's still a fair bit of sugar left in there. Mine have mostly ended up as bottle bombs! I've given up on trying to get this stuff fizzy now, but it's bloody...

    citra and willamette or.....?

I'm a big fan of Citra hops! I recently did a pale ale using just citra hops and it was bloody lovely! Fairly bitter taste to start with, but a great fruity aftertaste, gets better and better as you drink. Just a shame it's nearly all gone :(

    Oh.......no yeast!

I was thinking that, but they only sell wine yeasts and I'm not really up for buying a £15 kit just for the yeast!

    beer diary

Yeah, I've also been keeping track of everything since I started brewing. I started off using a day-to-a-page diary to keep track of the recipe I used, but have recently backed up everything to my google calendar. I also have a spreadsheet that keeps track of the ingredients needed for each of...

    Oh.......no yeast!

Morning folks. I'm up at this ungodly hour on a Sunday as I was planning to get a brew on with some leftover bits, but it turns out I've got no ale yeast left! :( I'm not going to have time to get to my LHBS for the next few days, so if I order online the earliest it's likely to arrive is...

Do I need a mash tun or can I use my boiler?

Interesting. I've done a couple of Hoegaarden-stylee brews recently. The first one was pretty close taste-wise, I used 20g each of corriander seeds and curacao peel (23l brew). Then I did the same recipe but lowered the peel to 15g and added some honey. Both still had a decent orange twang to...

Do I need a mash tun or can I use my boiler?

Just out of interest, why would you use orange zest rather than the curacao peel? What sort of difference would that make to the flavour?

    1st and only kit....hopefully..

You could try putting some vaseline around the seal of the tap, that should help to seal it

please help me to make homebrew

I'd highly recommend the Woodforde's Wherry kits. They take longer to clear than most, but they're bloody tasty! [edit] Just re-read your original post and noticed you were after a lager kit! Don't bother, try an ale kit!!
