Just a quick heads up for those, who like me, have naff tap water and need to use bought water to brew.

Tesco Value Still water is no longer filtered mains water, it is Spring Water, bottled at source at Chase Spring WS13 8EL according to the label.

At 17p for 2L, it's less than £2 for a full 5 gallon brew, so not bad value.

I have listed the mineral content below, so perhaps one of you with a better understanding of the chemistry element of brewing could give it the once over and advise whether it is good, bad or indifferent for brewing.

Minerals mg/litre
Calcium 38
Magnesium 12
Sodium 8
Potassium 2.5
Chloride 12
Sulphate 14
Nitrate 5

PH at source 7.8

Dry residue at 180c 219
