 You'll have plenty to drink to soon enough...

...but you won't get the chance! You'll be WAY too busy!!

(I remember a few days after the arrival of #1 thinking "I'll have a beer"... It took 45 minutes just to pour it...)

Congratulation mate. You need to start thinking about laying down some elderberry port ready for the 18th

A very good point and well made, especially considering the bumper crop we should have this year...

Feel free to post recipes... ;)

Congrats mate! When my daughter was born It took me 3 days to get a drink poured

I brought a bottle of elderflower champagne to work today

degorged it last night, to drink with a friend after work

we will raise a glass to Clan Scott when we pop the cork :thumb:

For 1 Gallon

2lb damsons
2lb elderberry
2lb blackberry
1lb raisins
1 tsp pectinase
2lb of sugar

Damson really do help in this one, but any hedgerow fruit will do including apples.

And when you say "port" are we meaning that we shall fortify it with something or do we just mean "porty-style wine"?

You could fortify it but that will have quite a high abv so It should be fine with out a bottle of brandy

Congrats C  bet you can't wait
Glad you posted that port recipe A, it smelt amazing in the bottle and I know a great spot for Damsons.

You go out now and walk the hedgerows looking for little green testicles.

Actually there are two (or used to be) near to our new Waitrose
