Cheap and cheerful Double IPA, hence the name.

Makes 23 Liters,
60 minute boil,
60 min mash at 67*c:

Grain:
Pale Malt -- 6500g
Lager Malt -- 500g
Crystal Malt - 150g
Total: 7150g
Just because I have the lager and crystal in stock.

Hops:
Magnum. 15.7% AA
65g--60min addition (86 IBU)
30g--30 min addition (31 IBU)
5g---10 min addition (3 IBU)
Total: 100g

Dry Hops (added to secondary):
Amarillo (for citrus flavour) 9.5% AA
50g for 5 days (remove)
50g for 5 days (remove)
Total: 100g

OG: 1.070
FG: 1.016
ABV: 7.1%
IBU: 120
EBC: 17

Trying to keep costs down, so was thinking of using less expensive hops, as above.
FV comes free on weekend 29/30 August, so planning on doing this then.

What do you reckon?

Magnum are nice but iirc from a brew I did a while ago can be quite harsh so a long mellowing out in an APA/IPA will be good. Not sure on the Lager Malt tho - never used it.

Looks like this recipe is inoffensive enough then.

I'll give it a shot at the end of the month.

Havnt used magnum so cant really comment, but id be putting all of the dry hops in for 10 days if it was me, get the most out of them :thumb:

And id probably throw some Amarillo in at 10 or 20 as well to get some of the flavour through!!

I'm not to sure about how long to dry hop.
I heard you don't get more after 5 ish days.
Won't hurt to leave it for longer though, at least I wouldn't have though so.

I was also thinking about chucking in another ounce of Amarillo at 10-5 mins. Just to bring the hop bill to half a pound.
