Hi
Ive just ordered a 30 bottle kit of the beaverdale cabernet sauvignon.
My 1gallon efforts have not been perfect so I was thinking of brewing it a bit short.
Any suggestions as to how short?
I was thinking about 3 litres less

Sounds like a good plan :thumb:

I don't make kit wines, have only ever tried a couple of Beaverdale singles which were quite good after 6 months, but I thought "if I ever do that again I'll brew a 30 bottle down to 25/26."

Stu9000, I always brew mine short (well since my first attempt) and it certainly enhances the flavour. I aim for around 22 litres and a OG of 1086 with the Cab Sav. I have one in the cupboard waiting.

When you talk about brewing a wine short do you mean that you dont top the fv up to the kits recommended amount of ltrs, maybe using 3 ltrs less water ?
