Probably me not taking the reading correctly.
Damn, I was hoping you had latched on something.

I'm going to TRY and leave 10 litres or so in 2 litre plastic 'pop' bottles for a couple of weeks.
With cider you really have to talk in multiples of months rather than weeks.
Not all supermarket apple juices clear, the best I've made is with Aldi's "Rio Doro" apple juice, crystal clear and out of this world after 6 months.
I do 24 litre makings, if it shows promise I bottle 6 litres in 500ml PETs.
Best of luck with your next making. :thumb:

Thanks for the tip!
Luckily I live pretty close to all the main supermarkets, so I'll give that a try.
Personally, I don't mind it cloudy, but I have some friend who would prfer it clear. Is their a way to speed the process up, say using beer finings for example?

Ta.

ooh, while I'm on the subject, I also have a bunch of fruit syrups from France. (They don't seem to be as popular here). Has anyone tried flavouring the ciders with these?

I haven't but I did use some Vanilla syrup (the type used in coffee) during bottling. Haven't a clue whether this will be OK or not.
